I was listening to the first Rocket game on the radio after they had moved to Houston. The announcer (Art Eckman?) described them coming onto the floor wearing "Rocket Red and Desert Gold." It still is with me....
The sample design jersey would make the rockets look like the McDonalds all-american team out there hopefully the Rockets make the yellow as a highlight and not a main color, jerseys that are almost completely yellow look terrible imo (see hornets, cavs)
Seriously, those jersey designs would make the players look like actual rockets - which would be really cheesy in my opinion. A more classic look - simple design. Red and white with a little, just a touch, of gold trim. Or just go back to the 1994 Jersey's. Great teams don't change their uniforms. The Celtics don't.
Yeah, I really like the gold trim around the logo. That's a nice touch. I went ahead and did a hack job on the Rockets actual jersey template to see what it would look like, and if you thought the McDonald's jokes were bad with the championship uniforms, this design would literally give us golden arches. It may just be better to go with the Laker/Magic cut you posted. Just for fun, here's the previous logo with the current colors, minues the nose art.
Just reverse the colors on the the letters and numbers, white instead of yellow, and I'm fine with that
Man I really hope thats not the new look. That rivals the dildo jersey in worst jersey in the history of jerseys. They need to bring the Classic jerseys back. Didn't Philly go back to their older jerseys? We need to do that.
As I've said before, if you want to be champions, dress like champions. Bring the old jerseys back. They haven't really completely totally absolutely been the Rockets to me since the first switch.
My personal opinion, bringing the Yellow back is a mistake. It was marginally fine during it's time, but really other than wax rhapsodic about the good 'ole championship days which included those uniforms, I just don't see the relevance to them today. If we wore those hideous dildo rocket pin-stripe ones during our championship days would you want those brought back too? I don't think the Hornets or Hawks Yellow alternates all are that great. Do we want the Rockets looking like that? Too bad we couldn't get those Black alternates. just my two cents.

Link or pic? I find it hard to believe the color would be listed as just 'yellow'. Not Maize? Championship Gold? but YELLOW?

I actually like this a lot and wouldn't mind it as the alternate logo but It would be impossible because its so different from the stupid 'R'. They should have just made that the primary with HOUSTON across the basketball in 96.
