Allowing the Bush tax cuts to EXPIRE (you know, like they were designed to do) does not equal "raising taxes." If the GOP wanted a permanent giveaway to the rich, they could have written one, but they set it to expire. Blame the people who passed those cuts, the Republican congress and Bush.

Nice post, Gladiator, but I'm not sure it's worth your energy. Like Batman said, it is more a state of pity now, or the type of annoyance that one feels with those little flies of summer that just keeping flying in a little square pattern -- right turn! right turn! I feel sorry for those poor repetitive flies also, but I don't mind it when they leave or the cat eats them.

As to the LA Times editorial, I did enjoy it, but just like certain fringe posts that followed in the thread, it ultimately makes me very, very sad. Not to be a broken record, but we don't have a healthy two party system when one party has only improved in one position (Dems, president) and the other party keeps tossing logic overboard like ballast and allowing people like Bachman to speak for them. Thank heavens she's not actually smart, given her beliefs, or she would be really, really dangerous.
