The Celtics took half the regular season off to gear up for the playoffs. They were able to win without home court until they ran into an equally talented team and the 2-3-2 format in the finals. In my opinion, the Celtics would have won if game 7 had taken place in Boston. But those are the breaks, taking half the regular season has a cost in the end.
Who says the reg. season doesn't matter? The last few days of the season are the most dramatic. You have players getting injured, players getting back from injury, and finally, teams jostling for playoff positioning; should a team drop a game to get better matchups in the 'offs, etc.
Yep, and don't forget the home cooking helps w/ the refs and foul calls a lil bit. The Lakers got some of that but I aint complaining. Happy they beat the Celts.
Who said regular season matter? Celtics were leading most of the game if not the refs **** them up in 4th Qtr. You should change the topics to Refs does matter like couple other Flakers "championships".
HCA makes a huge difference, and you saw it tonight. A lot of those calls the Lakers got in the 4th wouldn't have happened in Boston. It's an unfortunate part of the game.
I guess it at least justifies the lengthy regular season. However, I'd prefer they just spot the home team 10 points instead of trying to make it all secretive. The refs ruined a great game.
