the reason is: 1. James Harden is a shameless flopper. We all knew this before he got here. 2. Jeremy Lin is also a flopper. 3. The rockets overall complain a lot to the refs and the refs dont like that. 4. If you are watching rocket broadcast, chances are you are being influenced by a shameless, dishonest, homer in Bill Worrell.
The Rockets drive and fastbreak a lot. I've seen a lot of hacking the defenders do against them; no calls. Parsons, Asik, Harden get hammered; no calls. We usually don't complain (you should have watched Lowry), but our guys have to complain about the no-calls to sway the refs a little bit. I have seen a number of phantom calls against the Rockets. Greg Smith gets called for minimal contact. Harden swipes but doesn't even make contact. Maybe that affects our willingness to defend too.
Dude, if you don't think Stern would do such things, then you are blind. Stern has done plenty of shady things in the past, things where fans will never imagine the commissioner of the NBA will do. The thing with David Stern, he knows he's capable of anything he wants and he can get away with anything and no one can do anything about it. No repercussions for his actions. Before each and every game, the league office would send the officials an email detailing the game and information about what they need to look for etc. But, the league also tell the officials what they want to see like don't call fouls for certain types of plays and such. When Stern wanted the Kings-Lakers series to go to 7, it was totally obvious that the officials was favoring the Lakers. Dick Bavetta was the main official during that game 6, and he accidently slipped out saying "the league wanted a game 7"... After that, people across the country was outraged and demanded an answer but Stern continues to keep quiet about the situation, protect his beloved officials and laid out excuses after excuses saying the officials were just making simple mistakes. There were plenty of times where the league ordered the officials to favor a certain team for playoff standings or whatever. Since this is Stern's last year in the NBA, I'm sure he will do whatever to get the Lakers into the playoffs for ratings. Its not like he hates the Rockets, he just wants higher ratings and he knows that the Lakers will boost the ratings up in the playoffs. Stern always talked about the integrity of the game. But integrity is a rare commodity when it comes to the league office. Instead of letting teams make the playoffs because of hard work and they deserved the spot all year long, he gave it to a more star studded team who was struggling all year, never had a chemistry going or put out the effort as much. There's no doubt the Lakers are going to make the playoffs. Either the Rockets or the Jazz will drop out of the playoff race. The last 4-5 games, the officials have been blowing the whistle lopsided. Rockets often get called for small ticky tac fouls while they often get hammered and barely any calls. Some can believe that the officials are making honest mistakes but when its consistent in games after games, it doesn't seem like mistakes at all.
The life of a Rockets fan on a BBS 1. Stern has it out for us. 2. ESPN disrespects us. 3. SI disrespects us. 4. Refs have it out for the Rockets 5. Why can't - name your Rockets rookie sensation here - get more minutes? Dan Langhi will be the best ever. Bostjan Nachbar is elite, Joey Dorsey is Ray Lewis on a basketball court, in another Year Chase Buddinger will be an all star level player. 6. Every story written by any NBA beat writer, that doesn't praise the Rockets, means he is crap. 7. Any former Rockets player is immediately a thug who was selfish. 8. Rinse and repeat.
the change in line up effected us definitely, but the refs giving us bad calls is another factor as well.
lol....do you watch the lakers or miami heat games? Rockets have gotten some fair games from the refs, and some games its not the number of fouls, but the timing of the foul calls. It almost makes me laugh out loud when i see some of the calls the refs make sometimes.
Not so bold prediction. Mchale won't be around next year unless they win a round. Dude looks so ornery and surly in the preface interview for no reason. LOF conspiracy theory...you seeing him telling jeremy to just pass right before tip?
