i didn't see any of this so i'm not picking a side but:

    a) officials have long considered themselves above the game. the amount of flops they buy prove they're just f#$king r****ded. some are ok, many are terrible.

    b) i don't really dislike the spurs like i do the mavs, but duncan is a whiny biatch. he's only slightly below pau gasol on the crybaby face list. do you have to protest every single call timmy?

Seriously, take this Spurs homerism to the filthy Riverwalk.

DId you even watch the damn game or are you just a slowpoke?

The play you are referring to is the play that Oberto set a pick on Howard and Howard tried to run right through him.

Not sure why the hell you brought this play up when the play I was referring to and the play which got Duncan his 2nd T was on the play at the other end when Howard was on offense, faked out Bowen, drove the lane, and Flopoberto got their late, hit Howard's arm, then put his arms up in the air as if to say all he did was put his hands up. This was the play when Duncan started to laugh again and got ejected.

It sounds like you have a real mancrush on Oberto and the Spurs in general.

This is the board at its worst. You can't provide an alternate view without being labeled a ____ homer, or having some manlove for whatever player. It's possible that some people just don't give a rip for either side, and are just relaying what they saw ...

I'm sure there may be a valid point somewhere in that post, but it's hard to pick out between you acting like a total d*ck.

Why do posters act like this over something they know full well was just a f*cking misunderstanding?

even though i'm pretty sure i had the game on, i think i had it on mute and was doing something b/c i somehow missed this entire ejection sequence. but hey, AFAIC, tim duncan is owed a few techs just for that dumb "what, me?" look he has after every call against him that everyone has already mentioned. i don't even dislike duncan that much (just the spurs in general), but that's so damn annoying. so if him laughing at the ref got him wrongly ejected, i won't lose much sleep.

as for the second T, espn showed it coming after howard's drive and collision with oberto. i didn't see this pick someone else mentioned, but the drive, from the one highlight i saw, was seemingly a good call. or at least a call you always see made so i think timmy and co. were just laughing out of frustration at that point, b/c they couldn't have really thought it was such a bad call.

I know the Rockets play the right way but if the other team is getting a significant advantage by acting and baiting the referees to make the calls in their favour....I'm almost inclined if I was JVG to make flopping and acting a weapon in the arsenal as much as I find it distasteful. In a close game, it could be the difference.

I remember reading an excerpt from Hakeem's book on how he never got the calls because the refs expect him to make the shot regardless of the foul committed.

After looking at that, I think it's possible Duncan and Horry laughing at something me and my friends crack up at when Crawford's reffing games; his rediculous theatrics when making calls.

Wish the video showed what exactly Crawford did as he blew the whistle.

For everyone talking about Tim's whining, that had NOTHING AT ALL to do with what happened yesterday. You need to watch the videos instead of commenting without any knowledge of what went down.

That ESPN has Stein and Sheridan weighing in on it should give you an idea on how out of hand Joey Crawford got - they don't do this 99.9% of the time someone gets tossed on techs.

I wasn't talking about the blocking call that led to Duncan getting tossed. I'm talking about the offensive foul on Oberto less than a minute after Duncan was tossed. Howard slammed into him completely out of control, knocking him back. A ref (not Crawford) called Oberto for the foul, I guess for flopping or moving his feet. It was a call that would have me flipping over the TV had I been a SA fan.

You should make sure you've read the post before going nuts on it.

Are you laughing?? There's no laughing! There's no laughing in basketball! Red Aeurbach was my head coach, and he called me a talking pile of pigsh*t! And that was when my parents drove all the way from Michigan to see me play the game! Did I laugh? NO! You know why? Because there's no laughing in basketball!!

After watching that sequence, I wish the NBA would begin an immediate investigation to possible ties between Joey Crawford and Vegas bookies.

I think the guy you are responding to is thinking of the first foul in the lane that Oberto was trying to draw the charge on. That's the one Timmy was laughing at. The one you and Evan are talking about was the offensive foul called just a little later on the high screen. This guy must not have watched the game, that was clearly a foul on Howard and Oberto was as still as a statue and got hit in the face and called for the OFFENSIVE foul.

While watching, I got the feeling the refs did that because of something Duncan said to Crawford on the way out of the arena. Very Petty....

My guess is that he assumed it was just another flop by Oberto. He made the call fully behind the play and could not have seen Howard from that angle. Oberto had been acting for fouls every series up until that point.

Heh ... after watching the replay again I just realized why Tim Duncan was laughing. Oberto was standing still for nearly 2 seconds when the block was called.

I'm a Rockets fan for life and dispite my dislike for the other two texas teams, anyone who says the mavs are gonna be getting referee love or have been getting it must be delusional.
No team in the NBA in the past 5 or 6 years has gotten jobbed more by refs than the mavs, in large part due to Cuban and his big mouth. There's no love lost between him and the refs and there's no reason that just because the mavs have the best record in the league and Cuban hasn't opened his mouth as much that the refs are gonna be on the mavs side.

The calls were horrible by Crawford but lets not get carried away by hatred of the mavs to think "oh, the refs are getting ready for mavs love".

Much as I don't understand the call at all, I'll admit that the shocked look on Duncan's face pretty much made my day.
