So based on this, you would trade Stro, bench T-Mac and shoot Juwon. By any definition 22/10 are some good numbers and look even better given that Yao only played 25 minutes. His not being on the floor the other 23 minutes doesn't hurt because we have Deke or Stro with a small lineup.

Save your criticism until Yao has a night where he scores 8 points, 2 rebounds and 5 TOs.

I'd agree. He played okay, but you can't have a great game when you're limited to 25 minutes. It was mediocre.

So if a guy shoots lights out and scores 40 points in 20 minutes, sprains his ankle and has to leave the game, he had a mediocre game. Geez, once a YOH always a YOH.

Yeah, JV hates Yao so much he wants to see him stay on the floor more.

Seriously, yeah, Yao played well. But he's still not living up to his potential simply because he can't stay on the ****ing floor, which is what kills so many of the posters here.

I'm sorry, but 22/10/4 just cannot be a mediocre game. His +/- must have been about +10. Aside from the stats, it seemed pretty plain to me that the team stayed afloat when Yao wasn't in the game, and when he was in the game, he took over and we surged ahead.

Maybe if he played more minutes it would have been a great(er) performance, but Yao's overall play cannot possibly be labeled as mediocre. If so, then I hope he has a mediocre season, and playoffs.

Actually, we really took off when Mt. Mutumbo came into the game. We had trouble pulling away when Yao was in.

Why the rolleyes? tiger0330 is responding to the comments that Yao didn't play well, not that he doesn't have to find a way to stay on the floor. A 20-10-4 *assist) game and people are *****ing. I'm pretty sure JVG was pleased with his game and he made it clear he was not happy with refs.

By JV I was referring to JuanValdez, not JVG. The refs did a crappy job, but Yao has to learn to not put himself in that situation.

Not true. When Deke came in for Yao we were up by 6, and when he sat down we were up by 8. The next time Deke came in, the lead went from 9 to 8.

But it was Yao coming back into the game in the 2nd that started the comeback, and Yao in the game at the beginning of the 3rd when we got a bit of a lead.

I really don't want to get into a "Yao kicks ass, everyone else sucks kind of argument." I hate people that do that. It's a team game, and I appreciate and root for everyone on the team. I just disputed the assertation that Yao had a mediocre game. He had, at the very least, a very good game and was a BIG reason for why the Rox won the opener.

I am not trying to take side. But I think what you said here is exactly why some people are so mad that he didn't stay on the floor longer. This team needs 35 mins/game from Yao.

Did you watch the game and the two offensive fouls that are called on him? Those were pathetic calls, I am sure Yao should not battle for position at all in those situations and just let the other team push him out.
