Coaching and Harden. 1. Woodson would take Lin out for bad plays, but let him in later to play. 2. Lin didn't have to share ball control with a shooting guard.
The problem is that while Beverley is a good backup and I like his energy he doesn't help the offense flow. He played 28 minutes tonight and had 1 assist. Lin came out in the second half and played well, I think Mchale should have brought him early than 4 minutes to go in the game.
You using your "eye test" as the basis for your conclusions? Cause synergy sports has Lin as a better defender, not including the fact that Bev commits more fouls and plays the majority of his minutes against bench players. Lin is also a superior team defender, and generates more turnovers. Beverly is a slightly better rebounder though, but who the heck cares about that at the PG position? Lin was also named one of the top 20 overall defenders at the mid-season point this year http://www.nba.com/hoop/the_devil_is__the_dtails_2013_02_05.html
Totally agree. A guy messed up a few times, better pull him out and nto giev him a chance to come back. Bev misses too, well I guess I'll just leave him in. His thinking and approach to managing Lin is ... absolutely terrible. It seems to me he is already biased to thinking that Lin is somehow not a great or noobie player and doesn't give him chances. Lots of players in the NBA do poorly in the first or 2nd QTR and does better later on. While on the Knicks, Lin often did not shoot as well in the first half but improved in the second half. ffs. Not sure why we are paying him to be benched lol
Not only is Mchale hurting the team this year with the lack of trust he has of Lin, but also the Rockets in general. if anything, at least play Lin for the sole reason of maintaining his trade value God damn. I really hope they dont trade Lin and let go of mchale instead, but considering the team's record Lin is probably more likely to go. And if thats the case you are basically screwing yourself as no one would wana take on his salary. All because he doesnt even let Lin have starters minutes anymore
Yeah I don't get this, 4 min is so litte to do much, and in the entire 4 min, it's just ISO harden lol...Lin was open for one play but Harden decided to try to draw the foul instead. smh. ended up as a no call.
PB is playing well. we should debate whether PB or AB should be the primary backup. PB is competing with AB not Lin.
Beverley is the more aggressive defender and the better defender on some pg's but overall Lin is the better defender. Plain and simple the offense doesn't run well with Beverley in the game, he should never start over Lin unless Lin is injured.
He's trying to take over and be the man. It's addictive, once you hit a clutch shot and win a game, you will try to repeat the performance. Doesn't everyone want to be 'the man?'
I want to see McHale have the guts to have Lin come off the bench. I will gain more respect for him if he does so. Maybe then he'll at least get consistent minutes playing with the second unit and Lin will know what to expect?
LOL I thought we fixed this. regression . Lin sucked a couple of games and now the coaches are over doing it.
Lin playing time should take priority over McHale's decision not to play him. After all how are the sponsors like Maxxis Tires going to feel about their ad dollars if Lin doesn't play. Basketball is a business, Lin attracts fans, simple as that.
You think DMorey or Les is gonna let that happen, especially when Lin has been shooting around 47% since the beginning of December?
