?? I said we lost because we could not guard their FRONT courts... What does this have anything to do with Lin and Beverly???
... heat plays great perimeter defense while pacer packs the paint. They do not have the same defense system at all.
OP has a good point and it is hindering Lin's development, it's not like we're a contender right now and all we need at is a role player like Miami or the Lakers all those years with Fisher. It's because Lin is playing on eggshells under McHale. If you haven't noticed that unless Beverley is playing like complete garbage, Lin will get pulled (which happens many times even when Lin is playing well). If Beverley is hot for a couple of possessions, then Lin stays out. If Lin is cold for a couple of possessions, then Lin is out. If you haven't noticed, then you clearly have not been watching the games. McHale wants a certain PG in his offense - someone that isn't a ball dominating player and doesn't make mistakes...pretty much a Mario Chalmers type of PG is what McHale wants. Even Mike Woodson (the same guy that called Lin a back up) would be quick to be Lin back in the 4th when he struggled. There was a game last year where Lin was 1 for 11 through 3 quarters and Woodson still didn't hesitate to play Lin in the 4th and Lin responded by dropping 16 in the final quarter.
Agreed - look at this interview at the 3 minute mark http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=MomtEdHIYew#t=166s
I can guarantee you that most of the veteran members that have the "coach can do no wrong" mentality is just an act and don't want to "lose brownie points" and really want Lin to stay on the floor.
I'm kinda wondering if LOF's know just how pathetic they are when they blindly defend Lin like this...
lol I'm not even mentioning Lin. I actually thought he should've played more in the 2nd half. It's just funny how you guys will defend his ass to the death.
It's not about defending him to death...it's about looking at the game, objectively, and putting the blame where it needed to be. Almost everyone, except for Greg Smith, came to play....but you have people screaming to put the death blow strictly on Lin Smh...the guy only truly played a solid what 15 minutes?
What's to explain? Every game there will always be a certain reaction to many different things... Whether it's Mchale taking Lin out early, Mchale keeping Beverley in for extended time, Harden handling the ball, excuses for Lin's turnovers, Lin's lack of 4th quarter playing time, among MANY other things... Each and every one are always met with criticism, even if Lin is obviously playing poorly/Beverley playing well/etc. All of these things are stuff pointed to as reasons for Lin's poor play, when the reality is the dude just isn't playing good to begin with. Beverley is constantly bashed for playing too much, even on days where he's clearly outplaying Lin. And it's funny, because on nights where Lin is actually playing really well, he's talked up as some great point guard, even though the circumstances are the exact same. The only thing that truly varies is Lin's play.
Not to mention the nights where Harden/Delfino/other guards are off and the Lin fans are out in full force calling them out for how badly their doing, but when Lin plays poorly, there is always a convenient excuse, and it mainly is just random Mchale hate...
