It is just for business, nothing else. I thought it is David Stern's idea.

The thread is why Barkley hates the Rockets
    NOT
    why Barkley "hates" China

If you read my post, I already said that I could be wrong "except Barkley and Karl Malone (I could be wrong)"

I do not see any problem.

Your beef was based on the assumption that he NEVER went to China because of this apparent fear he has for Chinese NBA fans

    And, yes, you were wrong.

    So which one is it?

My assumption is that he has not been invited or he did not want to go, now it seems to be wrong for both since he has been in China. The points have solved.

It wasn't just one year of 3 million. We helped Matt make over 12 million dollars in his career for one decent season. My-co Penn alum might not have been a good NBA player but might have been one of the smartest, getting all those millions from the Rockets who were still paying him years after he left.

Les is a cheap guy, no surprise. But he didn't aim it at les. He aimed it at the rockets organization.

When it comes to that, even though I liked him alot during his tenure here, him dissing our organization is something you can't let fly by like that.

What your doing is picking a specific player over years of rockets basketball.

Defending chuck when he hates on your team like that isn't much different from what Yao-Only-Fans do.

Now, I respect him a lot for taking that paycut also...but you're making it sound like he took nothing. 9 million is a lot even today. Especially for a washed up player like Barkley. He wanted to win, and with the core we had assimilated he knew he had a good chance of winning a championship here. I don't feel sorry for him at all.

While complaining about 3 million dollars right now, don't you think its hypocritical that he blew most of the money he made in his career through gambling and whatnot?

"Your rockets screwed me." -Aimed at Kenny the Jet. Rocket hero in 95'. Thats a strong distaste.

A fan of Barkley more than a fan of the rockets is what you seem to be getting at i guess?

    1. First of all, Kenny Smith has been a Rocket hero when he first put on the Rockets uniform. I recall that Kenny/Otis Thorpe pick-n-roll gave Don Chaney the coach of the year award.

    2. You can think I'm a fan of Barkley more than the Rockets if you want, i could careless. I'm a freaking 99er, I don't need to prove my Rockets loyalty to anybody. all the 99ers are here for Clutch and what he stands for.

    3. Again, what Barkley does with his money is his business, what you do with your money is your business. It's about if he 'allegedly' got screwed over for taking a salary cut early to get a player here then to get paid in full the next year. I'm not Barkley's accountant, but he's obviously not happy about it.

    4. This topic is as new as cavemen discovering fire or birds learning to fly.

    5. Les = the Rockets. "Your Rockets"=Les. Who paid Charles? Was it Hakeem? Was it Kenny? Was it Maloney? It was Les. That's the point he was trying to make.

    6. For people who seem to NOT CARE about Barkley, it seems that you guys talk about him more than Aaron Brooks or Carl Landry combined.

Ottomaton, MacMingDynasty, I was referring to MoneyBall. You have to know that Les wasn't thrilled with Moochie type contracts and wanted the new GM to get more for less? We have two fragile stars for 40 million and we will see what happens when their contracts expire. Look at the contracts that Morey has negotiated; that is the future.

Charles can say whatever he wants about the rockets in terms of how good they are, actually its quite entertaining and I don't have a problem with it. What I do have a problem with is him calling our organization out in such a petty manner.

Is that Elton John with the Round mound of Rebound? Chuck was a Rocket Man, after all.

Don’t they have lawyers and agents in Alabama? A contract is a binding legal agreement. When Charles signed a contract, he agreed to play for a certain amount. If he didn’t want to play for that amount, he shouldn’t have signed the contract. If for some reason there were a breach of the contract, Les would have been sued, especially for $3 million dollars. Charles doesn’t have a leg to stand on and needs to stop whining about imaginary money that he thinks is owed to him.

Cutting players to get under the lux tax. Before any cuts they are only the 12th highest salary.
