Just saw this ad on this site. This is what is wrong. Greed. Pure and simple. Far too many people wanting something for nothing.
Uh, yeah, because he got that car with a credit card, like most people in these United States? No, I agree with you, dude. But, face it: people so many times are buying without paying they're loaded with debt. Same thing with the government: Unnecessary spending without having the money. With regular ol' Joes like me and you, it should be wiser to keep working and saving the money, and then buying when you CAN, not just because "it's on sale!" you know? Hey, can I borrow $50 to donate to the tipjar? Pretty please?
Greed is a huge part of it. Also the I want it now mentality. When spending > income we have a problem. I can attest to this from personal experience.
The thing is, who really believes this crap? It really bugs me because there has to be people out there who buy into this stuff because these ads still pop up daily. I agree with you completely, people want to make a quick buck at no cost to themselves. Sad. Well now back to class that my parents pay for, then to the Union and grab food from money on meal plan from student loans, then over to my girlfriend's house where I eat her food and watch her cable
I agree actually. The more money we get, the less taxes we want. The more gadgets we get, the better gadgets we want. Greed is the problem. The Buddhist mentality of shunning materialism is a fine way to go.
remembering back to 2 weeks of no electricity b/c of Ike, i gotta say i didn't really miss my electronics that much. i was enjoying nature and doing alot reading. i guess i really could have lived without all the stuff i have now.
Greed is what capitalism is all about. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5JZp215Bgyk&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5JZp215Bgyk&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Greed is good to an extent but laziness is not. Too many people want to make money without contributing to society. What happened to an honest days pay for an honest days work.
We have cars cause folx didn't like to walk We have Tv cause we don't wanna go out to the theater every night most inventions are about allowing folx to be lazier than they normally are Hell Calculators are around cause folx hate math Rocket River
That wasn't his point. I believe his point was that we take incredible inventions and progress granted and we are not thankful for what we have and where we are. We believe that we are owed everything and we will never be happy.
This isn't accurate at all. Cars weren't designed because people didn't like to walk to the grocery store, they were designed because societal mobility was virtually non-existent. Cars allowed people access to their world that they'd never had before. The theater everynight would get expensive...
