Whoever it was that suggested Chucky Brown is a genius. I would love Chucky as our backup C...even if he is a bit undersized.

Go after this guy!! He deserves the full MLE. Young, energetic, defensive-minded. If Houston management does, in fact read this messageboard, go after this guy!

Houston should also go after Damon Jones or Antonio Daniels and get our PG situation squared away so we can focus on rounding out the team.

We don't have to get into an argument, but its a valid point nonetheless..

The same reason why you wouldn't sign Rodman go for Griffin; nothing really that bad to lose, just a potential distraction, but not really anything to gain.

Anyway, who cares. It's not going to happen; If Eddie Griffin were a valuable commodity in the NBA he'd have been signed already. Every year certain draft prognostications (also known as "guesses") are wrong, he was one.

I understand why it's natural for people to want to deny this and why people harbor hope that he's still going to do something, but I'm just a realist I guess.

Webber is hobbled and Boozer gets his points off rebounds and tip ins - of the others on this page, you guys need to realize that no one can cover most of them.

the Rockets cannot have to best players at every position - I am sorry, that is a fact of the NBA - also, for those worried about Yao getting tired, considering that there are very few legitimate 5's for him to cover each night, how is playing a little help D going to hurt him (he did it last season)

if this thread were about having a best player at pf, i would be proposing some ridiculous trade like Motaylor plus spoon for brand.

this isn't about that. i'm talking about allocation of dollars based on needs and value to the team. how many times do I have to make that clear.

again, as to the pf's in the West. I'm not suggesting we need someone that can shut them down. I'm talking about a good defensive player that can slow them down. make them work.

did you even read the posts in this thread?

Disagree. GO would be a good back up, and I'd split the MLE to get him.

I only 'hate' the Malone guy from that era of Jazz (and never took to his sidekicking sidekick either).

I 'hate' their coach, but would have happily welcomed him here had he been named Rox coach. He is as good as he is unlikeable.

Lets face it, theres no way that anybody we bring in will be able to stop those guys. It'd be better just to get some depth.

PJ Brown would be a great fit as he is better defensively than any 4 we have but could take all the back-up C minutes too.

    Mot + 2nd for Brown

    OR

JH + Boki or Gaines for Brown + 1st

I think I would take either deal, pretty fair for NO too. Brown is good, but very old. JH or MoT give them more offensive punch too.

umm...brown is about 35. Not point in trading for someone old.
