I understand everyone wants to be run and gun PHX style or attack the rack Wade style but i say let the league be all sky and dunk and no shot. I want us to be twin tower style. I think it's better to be old school tough, grind it inside game....shooting two feet from the basket as opposed to all flash ,jacking up twenty footers when you can't get to the rim. Keep it simple and easy. Half of these high fliers can barely get to thr rack in a league without that many great shotblockers. IMO these guys now days can't shoot consistently so they attempt to use athleticism to make up for lack of shot and fundamentals. This team needs to exploit weak pf's and attack, attack, attack every team with a dominant inside game....it works.

I don't think a team with a guy like Yao and a tough PF to compliment him should adapt to the rest of this watered down league ( look at FA's). Even though Wade has created an effective concept that everyone wants to emulate, I say we exploit weak offensive frontcourts every chance we get. We can load up a second team to run and gun, but I believe the Rockets with an old school type like Yao should establish our mismatch and not evolve into a playground/espn mentality.

Who cares if it isn't pretty! I'm glad we are getting guys who can attack but our bread and butter is the advantage we have in the middle first. I think another PF with Oand D should be our priority before a highlight reel wannabe.

I say whoever can fit this role is who we need thats why I submitted the earlier Randolph trade. The Vince trade was just a hypothetical what if. But just would if Vince chooses to take a cut in order to join his cousin and help each other chase a common dream. A championship. Dream couldn't get him one but maybe Yao can. That would be going out on top.

juwan howard for jamal crawford of the knicks straight up

i posted this part in another thread:

Crawford would be great...He's a good scorer, he's young, he's got size, can handle the ball, good crossover, good shooter, will grab some rebounds for you, and will take and make clutch shots

Drawbacks: Not a real good defender, not very strong, and has a long term deal

With the glut of guards in the Knicks backcourt, I definitely think this is a realistic deal and both sides would benefit. Last season the Knicks were trying hard to deal Crawford before the trade deadline and he handled the situation and all the rumors with lots of maturity iirc. Having a 2 guard trio of Snyder, Crawford, and Head would solve all of the Rockets' problems at the 2. Also, Snyder and Crawford could play some minutes at the 3 to give T-Mac a breather. Crawford would also provide that 3rd legitimate scorer Houston has so desperately been looking for. Thus, the Rockets would be set at all positions except for PF and they can spend the rest of the offseason trying to get a big bruiser type at the 4 to go along with Battier.

How about Head for David Lee or Channing Frye from Knicks... Solid PF suitable for Houston.

the knicks have 7 guards under their contract, not including mardy collins- their 2nd round draft pick. adding luther would just make an even bigger log jam.

besides, lee and frye were some of the only positives for last season. even though lee seems to be the more attainable one, i don't feel quite comfortable with a rotation of lee/hayes/battier at the 4.

Take on 2 more white guys on our roster? With the addition of Novak, Spanoulilis (spelled wrong I know), Bowen, that would make half our team white...we aren't the Princeton Tigers...Yes Okur and AK-47 are good players but we need some athleticism too...

Also, your signature below calls for Yao to Eat Wade next year...is that like Tyson promising to eat Evander's children and then nibbling on his ear? :D

Tmac and head for kirilenko and okur!!!

heh...wats wrong w/ white people? anyways Ak47 is pretty atheletic...okur would give us good shooting and rebounding. we would have both battier and ak 47 running around chasing perimeter guys....we would have arguably the best peremiter defense in the league (excluding alston)....

and i dun like wade so next time, when he drives on yao i hope yao eats him :)

Okay I am not retarted but just as a fun thing to throw out there. Tommarow morning you wake up and read that the rockets had traded Tracy Mcgrady to the Celtics for Gerald Green, Al Jefferson, Delonte West and a first round pick what would you say? Other than being completly shocked the rockets made a move for the future. Im not asking any one to say that would never happen because i know that but how would you react?

As long as we're still interested in former rockets, how about a juwan howard for kenny thomas swap? KT is younger, a better rebounder and still shoots at around 50%. He is definitely a hard worker, when he started with the Rockets he was not nearly the player he is now. Why for Sacramento? They have been rumored to be trying to trade Thomas and Howard has one less year on his contract. That's probably not enough incentive, but all the same, Thomas is a former rocket I wouldn't mind seeing return.
