    Whomikejames, that was great:)

I would have allowed Indy to trade us Sarunas using our trade exemption (maybe required them to give as a 2nd rounder too). But with them making no effort to retain Fred Jones and shipping out Anthony Johnson for a bag of chips, it looks to me they are expecting a better season from him and he is in their plans, so this won't happen.

#1, our bigs are not our chief concern, guard play is.

#2, even reserving a full MLE we would not have put us in play for Harrington or Bonzi.

Now if you want to take us to task for 1) losing James at a great contract given his production just because of a little trade kicker, 2) not considering Fred Jones once James went to Minny (Toronto of all places got Jones for a bargain 10mil/3years), and 3) not getting Memphis pick (I'd taken the UCLA point) or future 1st to even out the Battier-Swift-Gay deal I can understand that.

Trade Juwan Howard and Ryan Bowen to New York for Mo Taylor's expiring contract after this season. Taylor can score with Howrd and will help Yao Ming more inside.

Another 4 to look at is Othella Harrington-hard worker- consistent player. Also -at 5 mil per year I like Najera- these are utility type 4's that could help us inside without breaking the bank.

We sure have a lot of guards on the roster.

Unfortunately TBar, Othella signed with Charlotte.

As for the knicks I think unless they can get a better player for MoT than JHo they won't do it...I think MoT's contract will be more helpful just to expire.

I like the direction you're going TBar...keep brainstorming.

    What if we trade:

    Juwan Howard
    Luther Head
    Possibly a 1st or 2nd round choice.

    To Sac for:

    Bonzi Wells

This way Sac gets a forward (Which they have Skinner, KT, and Miller, Shreef to play both C and PF right now) + a good young player and possibly a draft pick.

We get Bonzi (who has basically been told that he wont be resigned with the signing of John Salmons). We can sign and trade him for 7-8 million (Howard + Head's contract) a year for a couple of years.

    Just a thought.

    1) Sac wouldn't so the deal because it would put them over the Luxury Tax.

    2) I wouldn't want Bonzi with a big contract. The dude is a headcase. If it was one year, for not much, and he was having to behave to earn a new deal, maybe... but not for 7-8 mil for a couple of years.
