The Rockets send Juwan Howard, Bob Sura or Luther Head, and an optional future second round pick to the Clippers in exchange for Chris Kaman and Cuttino Mobley. What do you guys think?
no way the clips do that..giving up two of their starters for what? an expensive back up for juwan behind brand, a vet that might not be able to play, and luther.
Maybe it is wishful thinking, but I think it would be really good from the Rockets perspective. Give those guys up and maybe a future first and/or second round pick. Apparently Sura's still got juice left in him, and Head shows a lot of potential... not to mention the "potential" of a future 1st or 2nd round pick. If nobody agrees with me, that's fine. Nobody agreed with me when I said Steve Francis would never amount to anything (as far as being a championship contender, or quality leader of a team).
Of course it would be good from a Rockets perspective. The problem is it would suck from a Clippers perspective. Cuttino OR Kaman is worth more than that crappy package, and you want to get both. Why not ask 'em to throw in Brand while you're at it.
I think that Portland is still desperate to dump Darius Miles and his contract, but they would also throw in prospect Travis Outlaw or Juan Dixon. Juwan and Darius's contracts are fairly similar in salary and also both are overpaid. So in getting rid of Juwan we can get Miles, who beside his poor attitude and bad shooting is a fairly descent player and could play some power foward. Then we should also try to get Outlaw in the deal, he would give us more youth and athleticism with many years ahead of him in the league to develop. For us to get Outlaw we would need to throw in Sura though. What do you think?
How bout Donyell Marshall and Luke Jackson for Juwan Howard, Luthr Head and a second if needed. We get a PF that spaces the floor that can also rebound and block shots. Thoughts???
Why would Cleveland do that? I've said it before and i'll say it again if you are looking for a tall, decent defending PF that spreads the floor, shoots the 3-ball and is a consistent double-double guy then Murphy is your answer and we could probably get him for Juwan and Luther. If CD is any good at his job the he could probably throw i a first rounder and get Pietrus (spelling ??).

For us to get Outlaw we would need to throw in Sura though. What do you think? It'd be tough to take on Miles' contract and Howard's only got two years left. And as criticized as Howard is, Miles' would be worse. He's got an attitude which is the last thing we need on this team, has a bad work ethic and can't shoot worth a lick. People have been waiting for this guy to break out forever ala Stromile Swift. I'd much rather deal for Dixon who fits more of a need. I really don't think we need to get rid of Howard that badly. He's only got two years left and he's solid as a back up. Hmmm...I still say Luther Head for Juan Dixon with some fixings on the side...
What about Head, Howard, and Bowen for Mike Dunleavy and Mickeal Pietrius? The salaries work and GS's been trying to dump Dunleavy. At the same time, Pietrius is in the last year of his contract. Head gives them someone with a couple years left at rookie salary who can give them some time at the 1. Howard is serviceable as a mentor and as a backup for all their younger forwards and although his contract stinks, it's arguable that Dunleavy's is worse. At the same time, the Rocket's get a versatile forward in Dunleavy who can shoot and also spend some time at the 4. I know there are a lot of Dunleavy haters, but a change of scenery might do him some good; that and the fact that Yao and TMac will give him plenty of open looks and his old college roommate is on the team (Battier). Pietrus would give us a defensive hound with potential for a lot more offensively. You guys think this is realistic? Or is it more of a fantasy trade. GS dumps Dunleavy's crappy contract and gets something in return for Pietrus before he walks.
I think they would like to get rid of Dunleavy, but so that it would allow Pietrus to have a bigger role on the team. Pietrus is probably a better fit starting next to Davis and JRich cause he would fill that 'Bruce Bowen-esque" role next to the scorers they have. But, I highly doubt they move both let alone in the same deal and, if they would trade both, it would to get something of real good value in return. I could possibly see the Rockets makng a run at Dunleavy as a third team in a possible sign-and-trade deal with Al Harrington.
what if we trade howard and sura for rashard lewis. hes been wanting to play in houston since its his home city and all and im sure the t-mac yao and lewis show would be awesome to watch
great thinking. shouldn't be too hard convincing the Sonics to give up Lewis for Sura and Juwan freakin' Howard.
Stop me if you heard this one before... Bob Sura, Juwon Howard, and Rafer Alston for.... (drum roll please) Elton Brand! It works on realgm.com and I mean why wouldn't the Clip want the combined talents of Bobby, Juwon, and Skip....Elton's on the way out anyway and they will get payroll relief shortly when Bobby's contract is up... Now let's see...where did that sarcastic emoticon go.... ah yes
