This article made me so happy. Marty Burns of SI offers his starting 5 for the World Championships in Japan. Guess what? It includes our Shane as the starting SF. Here is what he said:

I believe Battier is EXACTLY what we need in Houston. If he is good enough to be on the US National team as a starter, then his role as the ultimate team player/all around contributer will only be magnified once he joins Yao and Tracy. I believe he will thrive with the Rockets, and I don't think we over-paid for him. Good job CD and management. Let's complete the rest of this offseason on a high note and look forward to November.

I think it is fine if we move tmac to sg on offense but let him guard the sf on defense. If someone other then battier is playing PF, I dont see why battier cant play SF on offense and then switch to SG on defense if needed.

Good call Yao#1. This whole league is about matchups. That sometimes is why the league seems weak IMO. I really don't enjoy the 8 guards on the court at the same time. That's why I'm always preaching to keep it traditional. Not because it's not untradional, but because we have a team centered around a traditional big man that the rest of the league wished that they had. Let TMac and Batman switch when necessary. The fact is if we lock down the paint, they both can put a hand in the face of any jumpshooter. Move TMac to shooting guard sometimes, he's already playing point forward at times on offense. Should that mean their point guard should be defending him? Yeah I wish.

    Per Two Sandwiches:

" Still would much rather have a scoring enforcer (Otis Thorpe) than a jack it up guard that happens to have one good shooting year will detract from a team concept (most guards, especially mike james). Why don't any of you guys want a pf to compliment Yao for years to come and help him with rebounding and defense? We need to have inside presence for times when Yao needs a breather for D and offense. Watch the draft every year...there's plenty of guards to be had, that's why so many teams are adopting the run and gun mentality. We have a unique and special big man with a better shooting touch than most of the guards you guys are throwing out there. Lets get him some inside help to make it easier to score inside. All these guys have to do is D and hit a three pointer.WHOOPEE DOO. The majority of guards today can't shoot and can't finish. I'd rather give JHo for a JHOx2 for the future of yao's development. I still think Randolph with be good but noone ever told me what they thought about that trade....SO.....is that you Bonzi, Darius, and Damon Jones. You guys really want on the rockets, don't you? Welcome to the bbs."

I agree we need a tough guy to compliment Yao's finesse game. I would love to have an updated charles Oakley - who could bang and score. An updated Otis Thorpe would be Ideal - scoring, rebounding and banging.

We do not have money- could we do an affordable deal for Najera? He can bang, limited scoring though. We do not have money. I do not want some one dimensional wimp shooter (Matt Bullard, Dan Langhi, Steve Novak, Keith Van Horn)to spread the floor only with no D.

We need some strength down low to help our big man.

ive heard about this too but it was on some chinese website that i cant remember... if this deal actually is for reals it would be ausome...odom can shoot the three, is a great rebounder and can play some good D. He also creates mismatches w/ his hiehgt and lenghth and his mobility. I would love to see this deal go through

Sure, I'd do it. Since when were Joe Dumars and Philly interested in being prison-raped, however?

Pass. If we're going to give up Rafer, Juwan, and Deke we better get more than one Finals MVP in the deal. Squeeze in Wade or Duncan and it's a deal.

We're supposed to rate it, and if the rating is low enough, it will get merged into the Random trade thread.

    Lol, which Rockets fan wouldn't.

Did that actually work? Simply amazing.

Hell no it ain't working in real life though. Pistons aren't r****ded, even though the 76ers may be.

    I'll make a bold statement:

Chauncey Billups will be dealt before the NBA Trade Deadline this year.

I'm willing to bet on it, where to?( I don't know that)

Wow... that is a very bold statement (and i'm not talking about the text)... but i believe that Rashard Lewis will be traded before the deadline this year... book mark this thread so when it happens you will be more than able to say "TC i told you so".
