I think Kidd is a poor match to run with Yao. I think the t-mac to dallas for howard and terry makes more sense for both teams. Houston gets more athletic and a point guard who can shoot from outside. Dallas gets another superstar and had devin harris waiting in the wings.

(Next to Houston, san Salvador,Boston)the city of San antonio holds a special place in my heart.I want them to do well and I'm convinced that with the roster they have right now, they will never win another championship... so i want to help them out....T-mac and Juwon howard for Manu, tony P,the rights to Luis, and 2 future first round picks...we would also get Eva longoria :D(with makeup) :D

Yeah, he kept those shots to a minimum... in the last two games, when we were already in trouble. Why can't the guy understand that ALL playoff games are important, including games 3 & 4 when you're up 2?

No, it's not all his fault we lost the series. I never said it was. But what tradeable assets do we have outside of Battier and the big two? How are we supposed to significantly improve without a major move? This roster is two superstars and a bunch of scrubs. Options are limited.

Sefolosha is a spot up shooter now? When did that happen? I was under the impression he was a young, extremely athletic slasher.

Drexlerfan22 gets it. So many on this board are Lemmings. Follow the leader regardless if he's walking off a cliff or not. We only have 2 tradeable assets and no cap space. So we either take a chance and trade one of our superstars or we close our eyes click our heals three times while chanting, "T-Mac go to the hole, T-Mac go to the hole, T-Mac go to the hole" and walk straight off the cliff into 4 more years of mediocrity.

The other thing about T-Mac is of course that his back is a time bomb.

I proposed this trade to my brother, who is a JAZZ FAN (yeah, really unfun being around him lately). However, know what he said about the idea? I quote: "only problem with that plan is I think the Bulls would turn it down. T-Mac is a career-ending injury waiting to happen."

That's what I got from a guy not wearing Rocket-colored shades. I think everyone around here overestimates the willingness of other teams to take on a guy with a massive contract and a career-threatening condition. No one wants the next Grant Hill.

The good news is, Yao is fairly durable, and will be around for a long time. Big men last longer than playmaking swingmen. This trade would give us a far larger window to win the big one. And I think we could do it with the right coach, because we'd be holding opponents to about 80 points per game or less with a lineup of Duhon, Bonzi, Battier, B. Wallace, and Yao.

That's of course assuming the Bulls would even pull the trigger, and that Bonzi could be retained when we signed Adelman.

I think we can make a trade with the Nets...is Carter a better player for our team than Battier? debatable.... Battier shut down Harpring very well and he was attacking the Jazz and making 3's...wait he wasn't making the 3's and he can't drive...Carter can drive...so even if we can't hit a 3 that night we have one more guy that can effectively finish at the rim...Battier may take on the hardest assignments...but he never outplays them...With Yao and Tmac...you don't care if they shut their opponents down...you however escpect them to outplay the guy that they match up against...Carter may not shut down Bryant, but he can at least offset the offense...I believe if we are going to be more offensive minded next year...we need the guns to back up the philosophy

Nets side- Carter is probably leaving if they don't get past the Cavs...Carter is UFA so he can just up and leave no strings attached...however, if Carter wants to win anything...this is the time in his career to look for that opportunity...he can go to a bad team under the cap or a good team through a sign and trade...there might be some teams that can offer a better package but I don't see that amongst the big three (Dal Spurs Pho)...after them we are the next best option... beyond that we have Tmac how Carter is very close to... check out how they just chill with each other...Link to Allstar interview ...they would be great teammates...Carter would keep Tmac going and vice versa...you don't fail on family...Carter would have a legitimate chance at a championship...they Nets get solid veterans that address many of their needs. They will get Battier, Wells, Howard...They get veteran leadership and someone to fill in the scoiring void...I believe Bonzi can play for another team...he just wasn't a fit for ours...they get an offensive four thats better than anything they have..sad but true...all they have is Moore at the 4...he is like a taller slower Hayes...they get a great teammate, leader, and defensive stopper in Battier...

    sign Nocioni for the MLE

    Yao
    Nocioni
    Carter
    Tmac
    Francis

we have Sura's contract and Head to possibly steal a 6th man somewhere...if you want to really go crazy you can have Artest for a package of Sura, Head, and Snyder....then you have 4 players that can play mulitble positions...Artest has guarded big men before...he can be our enforcer...6-7 260 lbs...gets about 6 rebounds a game...he can be our four and we will have a very fast and versatile team that can switch into a half court game or sit yao and run and gun...Chuck Hayes was a good defender and a great rebounder and that worked out fine...Artest is a good rebounder and great defender...how will that fare? Artest makes the same amount as Jho basically...if we have him instead of Jho I would not mind...even if he is undersized I feel better with him out there with the likes of Boozer over Jho...

    Yao/Jake/Hayes
    Artest/Hayes/Nocioni/1st pick
    Carter/Nocioni/Novak
    Tmac/Carter/Vspan
    Francis/Alston/Tmac/JL3

Nocioni off the bench with a Manu type role... We can play Yao and tmac significantly less...allowing them to kind of Duncan coast it for the season...having Francis and Artest injects the team with heart and an insane amount of testosterone...We still have Alston to play a more traditional game and we have the pick...I think the Artest trade may be much but the Carter one coupled with Nocioni and Francis gives us athleticism and slashers we lacked last season...

I know VC is a great player who is an amazing highflyer. He is just a star so I don't think Carter would join us....I'm so so sure if 3 stars on the rostaer would be good for the team. But I can agree with you that Tracy and Vince would be a great teammates, cuz they're both are on good terms with each other.

Nocioni...AGREE :D Great guy great ofensive player and can play as a PF or SF. So if we had nocioni it would be perfect!

Well heck... if we could sign Nocioni for the MLE, we don't need no stinkin' trades.

Assuming he would settle for the MLE (which I'm not at all positive he'll do), why us? What makes us so special? Every team in the league would be lining up to sign him for that.

But yeah, if he signed with us, sweet. No trades needed. We become a legit contender overnight.

It 's me Rookie34 ... THE official idiot! I want to apology, maby I sould have explain more WHY Atlanta would trade Joe Johnson away.

Let me switch Josh Smith with Sheldon Williams first, I realized later Josh Smith is their second best player. So, why do this trade with Houston ... I was hypothetical thinking about the following things:

Atlanta has a first round pick, wich they achieved from Indiana: http://www.nba.com/features/draft2007_consensus.html
Atlanta could trade up and draft a guy like Corey Brewer or Brandan Wright.

The next thing I was thinking: Atlanta get 's Sura 's expiring contract, so they will have more cap room to sign a 'big' FA this summer (Billups, Barnes, Mo Pete, etc.) and they probably will waive JL III after the trade, having already Claxton and Lue at the PG position.

So, let 's take a look after they trade with Houston + signing a 'big' FA + getting a good Rookie in this deep draft ... Starting 5:

    PG: Alston/Claxton/Lue
    SG: Mo Pete/Head/Salim Stoudamire
    SF: Childress/Brandan Wright/Marvin Williams
    PF: Josh Smith/Howard/ Bastia
    C: Lorenzo Wright/ Pachulia

That looks a pretty nice team ... all they lose is their biggest star, but they can sign an other big FA + they can get good talent in this deep draft! You never know if they want to mixe up this team ...

'You never know' ... but I know that chance will be very little, so again I apologize for 'Trade Proposal: Shopping in Atlanta!'

We are just being romantic of course! Visions of what could be or what we wished they could be!
While new General Manager Morey is thinking that our present team is a 60 win team and just needs a couple of minor tweeks.
Les needs to wake up! We have been spoiled by winning two championships and we want more! At present we are just first round fodder, it doesn't matter who coaches the team!
Without brash and fresh thinking both for talent and coaching we are still going to be the same -- first round fodder. As fans we should be screaming and telling Les that he needs to see the light!

thanks for clarifying  ...you're still an idiot...

johnson is the first "big free agent" that has wanted to go to Atlanta in over a decade.

he is a young (24), versatile player who can run at 3 different positions efficiently...

much like yao or mcgrady, he is the cornerstone upon which that franchise plans to build around...along with their other young talent such as josh smith...

so please...explain to us once again why Atlanta would even consider taking the pile of garbage you proposed in exchange for their best player?

    Joe Johnson > Luther Head
    Shelden Williams > Rafer Alston
    Cap Space > Juwan Howard

    Comprende?

Any trade proposal for Joe Johnson better include McGrady or Yao, otherwise Atlanta would laugh in our face. Such as the following: T-Mac for Joe Johnson & Josh Smith. That has some PRAYER of happening, though Atlanta would probably still turn us down after about 30 seconds of thought, IMO.
