    Trade with New Yorker

    Trade with New Yorker

Ok, this is close to impossible too, but I think it is more realistic than the trade with Hawks someone suggested:
    New York trade:
    Steve Francis + (David Lee)

    Houston:
    Juwan Howard + Sura + Head + JL3

We get Steve back + a PF fits exactly what we need

They get rid a contract they don't want, get Juwan that they can trade next year to prepare for their move to get King James...

clutch, thank you very much. I was hoping you would create this thread this year. Now I can stay away from the random scrub from the rockets packaged for the random star from another team.

NY would not give up David Lee, at least in that deal. Plus I don't see Lebron going anywhere else soon since hes building a huge house in ohio

Detroit Outgoing: Amir Johnson + 1st Round Pick (27) (Cash Considerations also?)

Detroit Incoming: Luther Head + Rafer Alston 1st Round Pick (26)

Houston Outgoing: Luther Head + Rafer Alston + 1st Round Pick (26)

Houston Incoming: Amir Johnson + 1st Round Pick (27) (Cash Considerations also?)

Assuming the Rockets sign a new PG next season.

You could also Replace Rafer with JL3 if you want.

Swap picks, give up Luther and pick up a young PF.

    Two trades

Sacramento Kings trade RON ARTEST to Houston

Houston Rockets trade BOB SURA, LUTHER HEAD, and KIRK SNYDER to Sacramento

    Why would Sacramento do this?

If we have to add in a draft pick, I don't know if I'd do it. Artest would have to re-sign with us at least, and I don't know how we could get that sort of concession.

The Kings would wipe out nearly 3 million in salary with Sura's only-partially-guaranteed contract. They would get two young players who, if they work out for them, solidify their rotation. If not, trade them later, or let them go. Although Snyder is much better than Van Gundy allowed, and Luther, while a no-show in the playoffs, can still learn to sack up as his career goes on.

Why would the Rockets want Artest? He's a headcase, a wife-beater, and his love for basketball might even be in question. But his talent is not. 2 steals and 36% 3 point range, 18 ppg.

And let me throw this out there. You need an athletic PF for the Rockets, and an enforcer? I know he's nominally a 3 but he's a legit 6'7" (so is Carlos Boozer, as Boozer admitted to SI) and weighs more than 250 lbs. He could seriously disrupt the game of many PFs, even in the West, despite the height difference.

SECOND TRADE: Juwan + #26 pick to Minnesota for Mike James and McCants (to even out the numbers)

    Yao, Tsakaladis(?)
    Artest, Chuck, Shane
    Shane, Artest, TMac, Novak
    TMac, MJames
    Rafer, MJames, JLIII

Sorry but Denver is giving them KMart for Artest so our deal looks terrible.

A 10 million dollar injury makes a 5.5 million salary dump plus two young prospects look terrible?

No, but C's would deal Wally and D-West for Juwann and Sura to save major bucks. I'd do it to improve talent.

Why not ask this of ex-C and current GM D-Mor?

And you thought there's issues with McGrady being injury prone and missing games. Maggette's 1 and a half times that. You'd get a guy who misses as much if not more games than McGrady, packaged with vets who have something left but are way toward the downside of their careers. No thanks to this one

I know this is a trade thread but how out of the list of free agents would you want

Corliss Williamson - bigger the chuck hayes and actually has an offense game and good rebounder

michael finley - quality backup for battier or tmac

Mikki Moore - could be brought in and converted to pf so he could play alongside of yao

Earl Boykins - smaller than john lucas.......but better than rafer

Jason Kapono - someone who can hit the three in an instant and has also proved he reliable on defense

Antonio McDyess - great shooter , great rebounder, great athlete......what else have we been looking for

Chauncey Billups - if we could find a way for this to work out we might be headin full steam to the championship

Steve Blake - TRUE POINT GUARD

Gerald Wallace - outstanding athlete.... great defender.....still developing an offensive game

Michael Olowokandi - I would rather see him on the court than tsaka****

I hate to even suggest this idea!!
If we are going to make a significant improvement in the depth talent on the Rockets 07/08 team, we must be prepared to give up something to get something back. I have no idea how such a trade would work out but we possibly need a multi player, multi team mega trade.
If we are going to get Josh Smith [PF] from Atlanta and Ron Artest [SF] we are going to have to give up talent!! Possibly even Tracy McGrady and others. In such a trade we could not only get the two strong guys already mentioned but a decent Shooting Guard and a starting Point Guard out of it. Most Rockets are going to be considered tradable. [ which is the opposite of present Morey thinking] Through this and a couple of minor trades we could bring strength and athleicism to the team, as well as heart! This would only be possible witha change of Head Coach!

Clippers would jump on this. They're not in it to win, never have been never will be. McGrady sells more jerseys than their entire team combined.

    McGrady, JHo, Alston
    Brand, Mobes, SAMMY

pick up Francis off waivers. free drinks for Rudy. assistant job for Mario. Good 2 Go taco bell style.

    It works. Just do it.
