Looking at the Wolves roster again Minny absolutely need another PG and SG.

    They bought out Hudson.

Jaric is better at the 2/3 but is an injury-prone malcontent with a bad contract. Telfair is a cancer that needed to be cut yesterday. A bad influence and also not that good as a player.

They added another developing two in Green while none of their previous two guards are that good.

If Wolves are truly going through a youth movement... Alston + Snyder for Ricky Davis?

Ricky Davis ... I don 't think Minny is going to trade him away, now Garnett became a Celtic. He is their 'best' player at this moment ... but if I was Morey, I would do the trade in a heartbeat! :D

    PG: Francis/James/Brooks
    SG: Davis/Bonzi/James
    SF: T-Mac/Battier/Bonzi/Novak
    PF: Scola/Hayes/Landry
    C: Yao/Butler/Deke

    haha

the whole SG line are knuckleheads. Or at least have SERIOUS knucklehead potential.

I would be scared if we got Davis.

Only one basketball thats gonna be tough to distribute as it is, even with RA coming in for JVG (more shots to go around due to uptempo O)

I got a question on a possible trade between Rox and Boston.

Since Morey came from Boston and must of still have some connection with them and now boston in need of players to surround the big 3. Think the wizard would be able to pull something off the hat?

maybe getting wolves involve for a 3 team trade?

we send wolves expiring contracts, we get some young players and cap relief, send boston veteran guard like alston?

If they are going through a youth movement, they will not want Alston they will want Head. I would swap Luther and Snyder + filler (maybe Reed) for Ricky Davis. I think next year Ricky is an expiring contract which will come in handy during the trade deadline in February (if he doesn't pan out here). Regardless of how well Luther shoots from the 3, I'd rather have Ricky Davis come off the bench at the 2 and move Bonzi at the 3.

Rafer and Sura for Kwame Brown and a future 2nd round pick. (Trade checker approved)

Rockets get rid of the PG jam and pick up Brown's expiring contract. ($9 million, could be used at trade deadline.) Also get depth at PF/C positions.

Lakers get a back-up/starting PG and more playing time for Bynum as well dump Brown.

    Thoughts?

Its not terrible, if his contract expires at the end of next season its a relatively low risk. The cats out of the bag on him, the guy is a total buster but, it could improve chemistry to send Rafer somewhere where he'll get minutes.

I might get a sign and trade going with Deke, Ainge seems to be hot for him maybe we can get a second rounder out of it.

Where to send Rafer then thank him for all the fish.

    Atlanta Hawks
    Alston for Zaza

    Charlotte Bobcats
Under cap. Adding Alston & Reed would be make them a better team.

    Cleveland Cavaliers
    Alston+Reed+Novak/Landry for Marshall

    Denver Nuggets
    Alston+Reed for Najera+Carter($1.1M waivable for $0)

    Golden State Warriors
$10M TE. Need backup behind Baron, Ellis not a PG. GSW also need frontcourt help, throw in Reed.

    Indiana Pacers
    Alston+Reed for Foster

    Orlando Magic
    Alston+Reed+Novak/Landry for Turkoglu

I don't know much of Zaza. Looks not bad.
I don't like Marshall at all. Overprice.

Alston+Reed for Foster is the best deal, from the Rockets perspective. Particularly if we don't resign Mutombo, which I think is probably for the best.

A sign and trade for Andray Blatch involving Head would seem appropriate at the moment.

(If you don't know why... do a news google search for Andray Blatch)

Mike James, Luther Head and Justin Reed for Mike Miller (Memphis)

We need to reduce the number of players on our roster. Miller gives us what Head can give us (3-point shooting), but Miller is much taller, and still a better ballhandler. James has become sort of redundant after Francis' arrival. By trading James and Head, we free up a few minutes for Brooks who looks very promising. Also, isn't Mike Miller best friends with T-Mac (from the Orlando days) and Battier?

For Memphis, rebuilding will be easier with smaller contracts around Gasol. They need a PG.

Mentioned this in another thread but Rafer/JLIII to the Clippers for Cassell.

Trading for Cassell would make sense for two reasons:
    1) He's an expiring contract. The only reason we were even remotely interested in a Rafer for Doleac swap in the first place is because of the fact that Doleac's deal would be coming off the books. Not because we needed a friggin fourth center.

    2) He's Sam Cassell. This move would unquestionably have the fans excited and doing backflips. He would have the opportunity to end his career where it all began while attempting to win another championship. And let's be honest, washed up or not there aren't many players more deadly in league when the game is on the line. He brings some swagger and a wealth of scouting and basketball knowledge to a team that's sorely lacking in that department.

As for why the Clippers would do it? The Clippers sure could use a reliable PG right now considering how Cassell is slowing down and Livingston is fresh off of a potential career altering injury. I think it makes sense for both sides and didn't the Clippers have previous interest in JLIII before (James Singleton rumor)?

I'd like that one a lot. It works with Justin Reed as well (after Aug. 14) if we trade Lucas to NO in a separate deal.

I still like to pick up an extra vet PF and then out the roster.

    How about...

    -Alston + JL3 + Landry + Novak for Marshall or SAR + a 2nd rounder

    OR

-Head + JL3 + Landry (rights) for Ike Diogu

Agree completely. Foster is right around #1 in the NBA in offensive rebounds per minute. He doesn't want to shoot anything but put-backs... kind of like Cornbread Maxwell on the old Celtics teams of the 80s.
