Rockets waive him to save money. Nuggets re-sign him.

That's still too risky for them to even consider, IMO. And hell, from a talent perspective we would probably have to be pretty stupid to waive him in the first place.

They've practically got a year to do that. As long as they get it down by the trade deadline. In the next few months in some situations cutting bodies can be more beneficial than cutting actual salary.

Lucas III for Reggie Evans, heard it through the grapevine, hopefully it's for real.

    Doesn't work salary wise.

    Houston Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing
    John Lucas
    5-11 PG from Oklahoma State
    3.3 ppg, 0.8 rpg, 0.7 apg in 8.2 minutes
    Bob Sura
    6-5 from Florida State
No games yet played in 2006/07
    Incoming
    Reggie Evans
    6-8 PF from Iowa
    4.9 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 0.7 apg in 17.1 minutes
Change in team outlook: +1.6 ppg, +6.2 rpg, and 0.0 apg.

    Denver Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing
    Reggie Evans
    6-8 PF from Iowa
    4.9 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 0.7 apg in 17.1 minutes
    Incoming
    John Lucas
    5-11 PG from Oklahoma State
    3.3 ppg, 0.8 rpg, 0.7 apg in 8.2 minutes
    Bob Sura
    6-5 from Florida State
No games yet played in 2006/07
Change in team outlook: -1.6 ppg, -6.2 rpg, and 0.0 apg.

    Successful Scenario
Due to Houston and Denver being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Denver had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted

    ------------------------

    Throwing in Bob Sura.

Will this keep the Rockets under the luxury tax?

    If traded;

Rockets salary: 63.79 million, and I have no idea what the luxury tax threshold is.

now the grapevine is saying that the Nuggets can have Sura or Snyder, but don't want snyder so the deal is dead. Man, why can't NBA teams make up their minds?

Adding J-Rich and re-signing Wallace could indicate that the Bobcats have grown impatient with developing and want immediate results. J-Rich and Wallace would most certainly guarantee Morrison less minutes. With a disappointing rookie campaign, he's looking like last draft's Dunleavy jr.

Trade Alston + Snyder + Reed + 2008 1st round pick to Bobcats for Adam Morrison

Alston -starter quality PG, currently only have one PG signed.
Snyder -athletic two to sit behind J-Rich
Reed -another insurance piece at the four, Emeka & May will be injured at some point in the season.
2008 1st round pick -what it is
(Those pieces definately will definately help them get that much closer to a playoff appearance in 2008)

For the Rockets taking on Morrison is a creative way to cut down the roster but also having a nice gamble at a player who could turn out OK. IMO he's not going to be star player in this league maybe a lesser Wally. He's also more size combined with offense behind Battier at SF.

Ugh, Adam Morrison? I'd rather have Novak shoot than Adam Morrison! We give away one quality guard, one atheletic guard, one trade piece AND a pick haven't we given away enough picks?) for a piece of unatheletic, rebounding-adverse player who given a large role on a crap Bobcats team still can't shoot to save his life? No thanks.

He is also a massive heister who has sever health issues. Do you want a diabetic player on the court during the 4th quarter of any game, not to mention a critical game.

I am growing tired of people including Camby in a trade scenario. Denver would be insane to give up Camby. He was the defensive player of the year last year and does not carry a bad contract. Camby is an all-star caliber player with elite rebounding and shot blocking abilities. He can also run and pass the ball as well as any other big men. He is also great at grabbing offensive rebounds and finishing strong. He even has a decent mid-range jump shot. The only reason his name isn't right there with the best of the best year in, year out is that he is injury-prone and tends to slip under the radar.

On the other hand, if Denver is insane enough to consider moving Camby, we should be all over that like a fat kid with a stack of pancakes!

They are 13 Million over the luxury tax. I'm pretty sure they are wanting to do something. Maybe not move Camby but try to reduce payroll..

I am aware that they are over the payroll and trying to do something to reduce it. I didn't question that. I was making the point that they would be foolish to look to move Camby. If they do consider it though, then we should definitely get into the talks.

Jl3 probably either a filter or for some LE or TE for next season.

Alston will be package along with a filter (jl3, reed, synder...etc) for a PF.

Personally I think our SF is the weakest one with Battier starting, or sg if tmac move to SF

with starting lineup of SF, Tmac, scola, and Yao. I think we would need a sharp shooter out in the open.

anyone can think of any sharp shooter at the sg or sf position that we may be able to land?

I agree that we need a legitimate shooter with size (6'5" or >). We also need another PF with size and strong rebounding skills (e.g. Haslem, Evans, Foster, etc...) that can give us 15-20 mpg as a backup to Scola. I think we should first look to find the PF then see if we can find the SG. It would be nice if we can find a player that is under the radar like Raja Bell was a few seasons ago. If Mobley was cheaper, he would fit that mold. Unfortunately, he is way too expensive for his current abilities and age.

i bet then you really would love this game. ha
im just saying with another good pf or cwe will be as deep or deeper than pretty much any team out there. i see it as... a few flaws must be straightened out.
    1. now we got a pf which was on everyone's mind and i have faith in him but can he live up to the hype? he is a rookie here. hayes is a good back up (only b/c we love him) but he cant put the ball in the hole anywhere besides a layup.
    2. yao is dominant and the reason we win, although we did really well with only t-mac, but can t-mac hold off again. he is a great player, but everyone runs out of gas and now we got players around him, so maybe it will be easier. the upgrades we have so far are only a pg. scola will most likely prove worthy, but its not proven yet. even last year juwan was wreckin when yao was out. he was doing everything he could and we didnt finish the season right. Who will back up yao?
    3. who is our pg? i think francis should most likely start with the stars around him and put james with the bench so he can be the "superstar" that he thinks he is, b/c in the past our bench sucked. im glad we got a scorer, but get rid of the trash. Rafer and sura should be gone. maybe keep head i dunno sometimes i like sometimes i hate him for the rookie mistakes he has never grown out of. brooks should be there i want to see this kid develop!

so with these small flaws fixed, 2 of which are greater than the other, we will be the 07/08 nba world champions!! we believe! do you? we might even go back to back again
