    Successful Scenario
Due to Houston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    new lineup
    Ming/Butler/Mutombo
    Scola/Battie/Hayes/Reed (IR)
    Battier/Turkoglu/Novak (IR)
    TMAC/Wells
    Francis/James/Brooks

how about Lucas, Sura, Battier and Snyder for Camby and Najera

That would save Denver a lot of $$ against the Cap and give them something in return.

I agree, Battier is key. We need his role play and his hustle. If you put him on the trading block, teams will jump on the opportunity. Tons of GMs would love to grab Battier from us. He is a guy that you do not evaluate purely by the numbers. He brings countless intangibles, including high IQ and genuine unselfishness as well as great hustle and good leadership.

    Houston loves Battier's game.

We need Battier and I am glad we got our additions without giving him up. He is our Bruce Bowen, and I think he will flourish in Adelmans system. Battier brings a lot to this team.

I agree, with his high basketball IQ, he'll be even better this year in offense... he won't be told to just stand in a corner

How about a 3 way trade with Indy and the Lakers?

We send Indy Rafer, Luther, Sura, possibly Lucas

Indy sends Tinsley and Diogu to Lakers

    Lakers send us Kwame

Big tall PF, can play some defense, overpaid but on expiring contract, he can be moved at the deadline or he produces and we have the choice whether to re-sign him for a reasonable contract or just let him walk at the end of the year.

Don't see too many teams chomping at the bit for Kwame. I would think Jamal and Diogu would be good value to the Lakers. That would give them Jamal and Fish in the backcourt, 2 guys good enough to play the point or even play together in a small backcourt with Kobe at the 3. Indy would do the deal in a heartbeat to dump Jamal, they get a cheaper, much less troublesome point in Rafer and a good shooter.

Fakers are trying to move Lamar Odom. Do we have a shot?

No to all of these -

CAMBY - injury prone. If he's injured all year, then we've basically gained nothing while giving up something.

    Sheed - limited upside.

Dalambert - one dimensional. See kelvin Cato. undisplined. Similar to Bonzi Wells.

Brad Miller - see Camby note.

Mark Blount - journey man. Would rather play Mutumbo.

Geex guys, real bad move getting one of the biggest underachievers in the NBA in Kwame Brown. Lamar Odom has like 0.0001% of being a Rocket. Just aint likely at all. I have heard the Rockets possible trade partners could be, Miami, Indiana, LA Clips, Boston, and New Orleans. What i would so is dip into the trade scenerio (Moneyball, baby) that gives the Rockets the highest mathmatical percentage in winning a trade. This brings me to Isiah Thomas. He has had a interesting off-season by adding Zach Randolph. In doing so he put other power forwards on the roster not names David Lee in jeopardy. Between Lee and Z-Bo, the Knicks have 48 mins eaten up. Making a interesting player possibly available. This is... Jared Jefferies. He's a 6'11, 240 lbs, power forward with a scoring touch.

    Rafer Alston and John Lucas
    for
    Jared Jefferies

We free up a roster spot and get added value at the PF position. Send Skip where he belongs, back to NY. Isiah Thomas has to be mulling over bring Skip to back-up Marbury, I mean c'mon, he is their playground legend.

So we send 4 contracts for Kwame...

I rather have Sura's contract than Kwame. If that trade was to go down we they would have to give us a first round and cash.

I'm really for anything that will whittle the roster down without negatively impacting our future. It looks like we have the rotation fairly set, so who can get that will be better at any position?

No way the Nuggets deal Wafer for that. They're really high on this kid and since they didn't have a draft pick this year they're basically treating him as their prized rookie. On top of that he absolutely terrorized the summer leagues and capped it off with a 42 point finale.
