Where'd you hear that? They need a point, because I see Atkins as more of a backup than a starter. They were also rumored to be interested in Lucas last year offering Kleiza.

Why would the Rockets settle for Maggette when they can get Elton Brand as well for Alston and Sura?

    :p

So is Rafer or JL3 more of a starter than Atkins?

If we could pry Najera from the Nuggets, Morey should be anointed Grand Poobah.

For two 1st round picks? We don't really need Margette.

I'd say Rafer is most definitely a better starter than Atkins. Splitting the duties between the 2 of them, they could be very serviceable. JL3 would be a project. Maybe a point guard of the future or maybe a Boykins replacement.

They probably would be more inclined to trade us Mobley for Rafer and extra than Maggette.

    I still say...

    Rafer + Head + Landry

    for Etan Thomas + 2 2nd's

You would be HARD pressed to find a better rebounder/defender to play along side Yao. Hell, he could even play center whith Yao on the bench and Scola playing along side him. That would be a great fit as well. Of course you would have to decide not to bring back either Hayes and/or Deke.

ET is fine, I support completely but only IF JCN is part of it. Wiz have no need for Rafer, they'd need a 3rd team like Orlando or Heat to take RA and pass someone else along. It is doable IMO.

Hmmmm, you might be right. I personally feel they need a PG like Rafer but maybe not.

In the mold of your thought, then this might work better.

    Rafer+ Head + Landry for Etan Thomas + 2nd

Etan Thomas for Cuttino Mobley + 2nd

    Cuttino Mobley + 2 2nd's for Rafer + Head + Landry

I would rather keep Hayes than someone slightly better like Najera.

None of those 3 are starters. Iverson will be the PG and they will put somebody else at the 2.

Boykins doesn't play for Denver. He was traded to the Bucks last season.

Etan Thomas has animals living in his hair and is more or less a scrub. He is a good rebounder and would help as a reserve assuming they have an extra seat for his hair. I think the Wizards' coach used to use his back as a table during timeouts so he could draw plays up on the whiteboard. So, if nothing else, he serves as a good makeshift table.

Najera is a prototype bench player with hustle. He is also a lot bigger and more experienced that Hayes. He would provide more value to us than Chuck, especially in the postseason.

I like Hayes too, but you make that move to dump Rafer for an expiring contract and to eliminate the need to re-sign Chuck. It's mainly just a cap move.
