Alston + Head for Tim Thomas

Trade works and it dumps some guards and adds a tall experienced good shooting power forward!

and then we should add Jamaal Maglorie with the MLE

    Ming/Maglorie
    Thomas/Hayes/Novak
    Battier/Synder
    Mcgrady/Wells
    James/Brooks

Solid five and a strong bench

What about a sign and trade for Gerald Wallace? The Bobcats just released Brevin Knight so what about and are wanting veterans. Shane Battier and Rafer Alston for Gerald Wallace?

Ive heard some rumors about a possible deal with Portland from a frined who is a regular reader on Realgm. He is a Portland fan and had a link to the source but we cant find it. Even though the source sounds a bit dodgy i wanna see what you guys think.

Anyway the "source" basically said that Portland would really want Battier which is nothing new because they have wanted his leadership and blue collar play for a while now. The "source" then went on to say that portland were willing to give up Frye, Jack and a future first rounder for Battier and "fillers"

IMO this seems to good to be true but i would do it in an absolute heartbeat. Even though i love Battier's leadership and hustle Frye could fill out PF hole and force Tmac into his natural SF position and then bring in Bonzi Wells or even Mike James as our starting SG. Jack could start for us also although id look to trade him for more PF/C depth because, although he is younger than Rafer i dont see much of a difference.

Bottom line though seems to good to be true. What are your thoughts on it??

Sorry if this has already been posted i havnt read all the posts in this topic.

I don't think it would be good for us if we lose Shane for Frye. Frye maybe is a good player but we don't need that type of PF here. And I think Tracy feels better at SG

There has been rumors about Suns trading one of their big-contract players to save money but would they be dumb enough to trade Diaw?? How about something like this:

    Jalen Rose+Boris Diaw+James Jones<---->Vassilis Spanoulis+Kirk Snyder+Bob Sura+Shane Battier+Luther Head

    Rotation would be:

    Alston|James|Brooks|JL3
    Bonzi|MLE??|Rose
    T-Mac|Jones|Reed
    Diaw|Hayes|Landry
    Yao|Deke

    Looks pretty good to me

they traded james jones to portland, or they're in the process of it. i don't think they want all those players, they have no need for battier when they already have marion. i'm not sure if they want 3 guards when they already have nash/barbosa/banks at pg and raja is like luther with height and defense. snyder has athletiscm but no shot.

Guys I just saw that news on RealGM. Billups could really be our target. Well I know we can only offer him MLE but I he probably wants to play with T-Mac and Yao.

There is written that Billups and Detroit couldn't close to finalizing a deal. Milwaukee is/was probably the most possible place for CB but they want to re-sing Mo Williams.

    http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/46851/20070702/pistons_billups_off_to_slow_start/

Any chance of singin' Billups? Come on Morey!

I know Murphy has been mentioned before - but I believe he would help with size and outside scoring. Murphy could also be used as the backup C with a smaller quicker lineup. Adding Diogu would give us additional help at PF.

Why for Indiana? To get out of Murphy's contract and save dollars with Sura.

Why for Houston? BIGS - Perfect trade for the Rockets?? Maybe, Maybe not - but it will give us added height to our frontcourt. Plus Murphy would take pressure off of Ming in the post w/ his shooting.

    Indiana Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing
    Troy Murphy
    6-11 PF from Notre Dame
    10.3 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 1.9 apg in 27.2 minutes
    Ike Diogu
    6-8 PF from Arizona State
    6.2 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 0.4 apg in 12.9 minutes
    Incoming
    Shane Battier
    6-8 SF from Duke
    10.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.1 apg in 36.5 minutes
    Bob Sura
    6-5 from Florida State
No games yet played in 2006/07
Change in team outlook: -6.4 ppg, -5.4 rpg, and -0.2 apg.

Would you do this trade? If Indiana requested we add Luther to the trade, would you still do the trade?

NO way Larry is going to do this deal. It is same as slapping himself for the previous deal with GS.

i'm pretty sure we can't get spanoulis to another team. we just have to waive him, and i realy don't like the idea of giving varejao 7 million dollar.

Lamar Odom is my choice for my dream trade

    Battier
    Head for Lamar Odom
    Sura

For the Rockets: Tmac gets to move back to the small forward position and Bonzi in the starting 2-guard.Novak can then back Tmac therefore replacing the threes we will lose when Luther leaves.Snyder can back up Bonzai(or vice versa if it means the Rox will be deeper this way)

For the Lakers: I would only do this if Luke walton can effectively play the 4spot allowing Battier to ease into the 3spot.We already know they have some interest in Head also.Supposedly, you dont really need a true point in the Triangle offense, so maybe Luther could start at the point.

Would the lakers consider trading Lamar? If so, would Battier + Head be enough to entice them? Maybe even throw in Vspans expiring contract in there. I can always dream cant I? :p
