Wow, if you give them head, they might have to re-think that deal

Because this year is basically the last year of his rookie deal. They could give him a qualifying offer next year, but he would be pissed and they don't want to deal with that. They will either need to sign him to a fairly large extension very soon (he probably doesn't want to stay in that hell-hole), trade him for something, or lose him for nothing.

this trade would never happen, but im bored so

    Houston Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing
    Shane Battier
    6-8 SF from Duke
    10.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.1 apg in 36.5 minutes

    Luther Head
    6-3 PG from Illinois
    10.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2.4 apg in 27.6 minutes

    2007 Draft #26 Pick
    and maybe future pick

    Incoming

    Brian Skinner
    6-9 PF from Baylor
    4.4 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 0.9 apg in 22.7 minutes

2007 Draft #06 Pick (we can draft Yi)

    Milwaukee Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing
    Brian Skinner
    6-9 PF from Baylor
    4.4 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 0.9 apg in 22.7 minutes

    2007 Draft #06 Pick

    Incoming
    Shane Battier
    6-8 SF from Duke
    10.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.1 apg in 36.5 minutes

    Luther Head
    6-3 PG from Illinois
    10.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2.4 apg in 27.6 minutes

    2007 Draft #26 Pick
    future pick

    Successful Scenario
Due to Houston and Milwaukee being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Milwaukee had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

why the hell we do this? we trade battier and luther (who have value) for skinner and a potential bust or potential rotational player at best(which is still a big if)

The fact that he flatly said that he would give them Head cancels out the problem of overuse of Head jokes

We can't afford three max contracts especially for a bonehead like Zach Randolph. Taking on a third max contract in our case should guarantee nothing short of a championship and I don't think his addition does that. This is precisely why i've always been against acquiring Rashard Lewis as well.

i actualy like that trade, makes sense for both team, but don't know if we want to pay 3 players max contract.

Yeah but in all reality, you are combining the salaries of Battier and Sura (a unused player for 2 years) to equal Zachs contract. Rafer for Jack just hepls us get there while getting a younger PG that is more traditional than Mike James. We trade our pick to back down into the 2nd round, but have 2 picks. One can be used for Glen Davis while the other can be a foriegn project player like the SG from China.

Battier + Head + #26 pick to Charlotte for Emeka Okafor. He's a free agent after this season so obviously an extension would be an issue here.

Despite his durability issues he's always going to be top five's in rebounds and blocks. He's the best offensive rebounder in the league and a rugged post defender.

IMO, he's the best potential home run hitter out of these under-the-radar young PF's around the league that are conceivably available.

This would be great. I love Okafor...unfortunately I don't see it happening unless Gerald walks....maybe we could sign wallace for the MLE :D ....then do your trade for Okafor...

    Yao
    Okafor
    Wallace
    Tmac
    James

It has been reported that Gerald Wallace wants around 8-10 million per season, which prices him out of the MLE.

The Head/Battier/26th pick for Okafor works but the Bobcats are taking on way more salary. Becausethey are under the cap it works out, but I dont see them really wanting to take that much money back.

Considering the deal that appears about done, how about we send Luther and #26 to the Hawks for the Landlord and change?

I think that the Rox should trade away Bonzi, luther, sura,jlIII & Alston...So that they can agressively pursue Gerald Wallace, Acie law, & a physical, long pf... They need this team to be similar in terms of Sacramento & Portland in order for them to be successful...I think this..or moves like this are key to their ability to compete in the WEST! Remember it is tough enough(insert Durant & Oden) as it stands now and the Lakers,Suns,Dallas & gs are going to be heavy hitters in the offseason...tomorrow is the draft, time to make a splash.
