    I'd say yes, but:
    1. Charlotte won't give Sean up. A young big man with high upside=you don't let him go.
    2. Charlotte would rather resign Matt Carroll.

Okay, I've checked this guy up. Seems like I missed the injury issue. Well, maybe the Bobcats would do it, but... Injury, constant injury... He does fill our high at the 4... CHA would want Luther (to let M. Carroll go), sot hey still have a chance to maintain the position with a cheaper option...
    Interesting. Open for further discussion.

Charlotte has some questions. I know they have money and cap space to spend money, but I'm not completely sure they want to. They have to resign Wallace, Carroll, & Brezec.

I remember hearing that they will lose Wallace, leaving SF open and the jury is out on Stache, so they will probably draft a SF

I really think they will resign Carroll, but even just resigning him, they need more scoring. They have no bench and either May or Okafor are always injured.

It really depends on who they draft, for us to be able to work any trade with them. If they draft a SF to replace Wallace, no dice. If they pick up a PF/C (Hawes, Noah, Wright, etc) to replace Brezec as insurance, we may be able to pull a trade. However, we would probably have to give up more than just Head, probably Head & V-Span.

Just thought, If they were to draft say Noah, they may be looking to move Okafor. I know he is injury prone, but he would work perfectly at PF.

I think Okafor would be great here. Can't see it happening though, until his contract year possibly.

Trade Sura, Kirk Snyder, V-Span and 1st Round Pick for Artest.
Trade Battier + Rafer for Haslem and something else to make it work.

    James / V-Span
    Mcgrady / Head
    Artest / Wells
    Haslem / Hayes
    Yao / Deke
The Rest : Lucas, Novak, Reed, Jake

The only think I don't like is our point guard situation. Id rather have James as a back-up but what are you going to do. Also I'd try to get Wilcox before Haslem but we have nothing Seattle wants.

This is also without using the MLE. I guess we could offer the full MLE for a point guard like Blake, though I feel like James is better for this team. Maybe Mo Pete or McDyess.

Proposal: Udonis Haslem for Head & Sura

Why Miami does it: They have no guards outside of Wade and Williams, and Williams is 33. Payton is done, and Eddie Jones is basically done too. Head's shooting and athleticism would work especially well next to Wade, because Wade could guard the bigger guys on defense if need be. Plus, they get him at a pittance of a salary for the next two years.
The cap relief from Sura's contract doesn't hurt, either.

Why Houston does it: We'd be set at power forward for a good long time, at a reasonable salary ($6.5 mil/year on average). Haslem is a top-notch rebounder, he's relatively young, and he has a *VERY* reliable jumper from anywhere inside the 3-point line. He's absolutely perfect for us.

And if Miami doesn't do it straight-up, I'd throw in our 1st-rounder for a future 2nd. Peace of mind at the 4 for years to come is definitely worth our 1st-round pick in my mind.

I'd do that in a heart beat. He's going to have a breakout year next year. Mark my words.

Ok, here's myp after two big trades.

trade #1- Vspan, Snyder, Sura, #26 draft pick to Sacramento for Ron Artest
trade #2- Novak and Battier to NY for David Lee and 2nd round draft pick

Once the Rockets acquire Artest, Battier becomes expendable. I love Battier's defense and work ethic, but Artest plays better D and is a scoring threat. David Lee is a young PF who avgs 10+ rebs and 10+points per game.

the 2008 starting lineup would be

    PG- James/Alston splitting time
    SG- Tmac,
    SF- Artest
    PF- Lee
    C- Yao

off the bench is Bonzi Wells, Luther Head, Chuck Hayes, Mutumbo, John Lucas III, etc

This lineup has offensive firepower, strong defense, good rebounding, good speed, everything. And we would have some really good options off the bench. Although we would lose the first round pick, at least we would get a seconded rounder, and David Lee is so young that its not really like trading away picks for an old vet. I really think this lineup could win a championship, I think we would be better than SA and PHX.

Thats quite similar to what I posted....But with Camby instead of Haslem (so he takes some C minutes too)

Btw, you have V-Span traded and still in the rotation :p I guess you meant JLIII

MLE can go to someone like Mo Williams to fix the PG situation

MO williams isn't coming here. Milwaukee will give him more than MLE.
Camby won't work because Denver don't need Battier or anything the Rockets have to offer. Maybe Rafer but not for Camby. Miami on the other hand need a point guard and a small forward, and they have experience with Rafer, so Battier and Rafer will atleast get us Haslem. Now people might say we are giving up too much, but sometimes you need to to solidify your line-up. Ofcourse I don't actually believe the Rockets are going to get Artest. Reporters have shot down those rumours.

    Seriously, with a line-up of
Mike James / Mcgrady / Artest / Haslem / Yao,
I honestly believe that line-up can win a championship. Mcgrady would have his best season because what he really is is a playmaker, and playmakers only thrive when they have teammates who can make something out of plays. That's why Nash is so good now, because he's the best playmaker but also because his teammates. Artest as a third option is on the same level as Ginobili or Parker as a third option. Haslem as a fourth is just as solid. On the Heat championship team he was the third or fourth best. This would all be with Mcgrady at his best. On top of that Yao would be at his best too playing alongside a power forward like Haslem and the toughness Artest would bring. Mike James is not an all-star, but he can hold his own, and he wouldn't have to worry about the ball-handling (cuz of Tmac) and just do what he does best, which is to score. The bench would be pretty amazing too, assuming Wells gets into shape, him and Head would provide enough scoring for a bench. And then you have Hayes and Deke, that's amazing defense coming off the bench. I guess with the MLE we should sign another shooter, no matter what position.
Now I am fully aware that this won't happen, but I believe it is possible.

I wouldn't give up Battier for Haslem even if it's a direct swap.. Yeah, you get a servicable PF, but you lost the team's best defensive guy who can guard super stars like Kobe, Arena and etc., not to mention Battier shoots 3 points at 42%+...

I honestly think Battier's number would look much better under Adelman's system, which might eventually make him a 15/5/3 guy. Then again, I am not saying we should hold on to Battier even we have a very good offer on the table, all I saying is that Haslem isn't worth a Shane Battier on our end..

    Final Plan

Trade Sura, Snyder, V-Span, and the First Round Draft Pick
    for
    Artest.

    Trade Battier and Rafer
    for
    Haslem and trade filler.

    Re-sign Dikembe and Hayes.
Try and split the MLE between P.J. Brown and Chucky Atkins. Or Mcdyess to the full MLE and Darrell Armstrong to the LLE. (I'll just assume the worst from these scenarios and say we get P.J. Brown and Darrell Armstrong.) (Jacque Vaughn is another option. It would be taking away from competition.)

Finally, make sure Adelman makes Bonzi understand the team needs him to get into shape, and makes Artest understand he has to take this season seriously and stay in check and it will pay off if he does.

    MIKE JAMES / DARRELL ARMSTRONG
    TRACY McGRADY / LUTHER HEAD
    RON ARTEST / BONZI WELLS
UDONIS HASLEM / P.J. BROWN / CHUCK HAYES
    YAO MING / DIKEMBE MUTOMBO
THE REST : NOVAK (whom we should develop) / LUCAS / REED
Not to worry about Armstrong being our first back-up, Mcgrady can play point.
The only thing we would be missing is a shooting big man like Horry, which is why Novak needs to develop.
I wish we had Brent Barry and Robert Horry. Those guys are great role players. Barry is very versatile, and Horry can play outside at the 4.
Either way, this team would definitely be up there with the Spurs.

Our back-court of Mcgrady and James macthes up with Parker and Ginobili.

Artest is better than Bruce Bowen, especially if he doesn't have to worry about scoring too much.

Yao, Haslem, P.J., Hayes and Dikembe...that is as strong front court than Duncan, Elson, Oberto, and Horry. I really think Yao would be even better next year with those teammates.

The rest would be Bonzi and Head compared to Finley and Brent Barry.

But Artest is a better player on both ends of the court. It would be a trade where both sides win because Miami gets a great player but Houston get exactly what they need, and they'd be giving up something we already have in another player.
Just look at the fabulous team I drew up :D

    Say no to SAR.

Do we seriously want to trade for Juwan's clone? I thought we got rid of him.
