No I don't wanna stevenson! He's maybe athletic, but he cannot even make wide open positions. Please no!

    1) Shane Battier, Kirk Snyder, Vassilis Spanoulis, #26 and Bobby Sura's contract
    for
    Boris Diaw and Raja Bell

Diaw's skill-set matches Adelman's criteria for PF. Phoenix is desperate to unload contracts and are rumored to have even considered swapping Marion for expiring contracts and draft picks. This trade would allow Phoenix to keep its core together while trimming close to $8 million in salary through 2008.

    2) Juwan Howard for Mike James

    3) Sign Antonio McDyess, re-sign Chuck Hayes and Deke for the minimum.

    PG: Rafer Alston
    SG: Raja Bell
    SF: Tracy McGrady
    PF: Boris Diaw
    CN: Yao Ming

    6th: SG/SF - Bonzi Wells
    7: PG/SG - Mike James
    8: PF/CN - Antonio McDyess
    9: SF/PF - Steve Novak
    10: SG/PG - Luther Head
    11: PF - Chuck Hayes
    12: CN - Dikembe Mutombo
13: PG - John Lucas III

Although I've read most of this thread over the last couple of weeks, I don't recall anyone suggesting that we go after Mike Miller.

I'm bringing this up for several reasons, not the least of which is his wicked outside shooting and the fact that he's one of T-Mac's best friends.

If Memphis is interested in acquiring Juwann (as I think has been suggested here) then why not move Juwann and his contract to Memphis in exchange for Miller, and include Luther (to make up for the loss of the outside shooting that Memphis still needs) and maybe the 26 pick.

I think Juwann, Luther and the pick is a bit much but with players only, the money is a good match (according to the ESPN Trade Machine).

Mike can play the 3, and TMAC can play the 2 or vice versa.

Thoughts? Flames? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller, Bueller?

Maybe we could get Kyle Lowry back as part of the package. I don't see Miller being a 3-for-1 quality player...

If Al Thornton is sitting there at 14 when the Clippers pick and Acie Law is already off the board, I'd offer them Rafer, Head and possibly our #26 for Tim Thomas and their pick, then offer that package to Sacramento along with Snyder in a 3 way for Artest.

    We get Artest.

Clips get our #26 and Rafer.

Sac gets Clips #14, Tim Thomas, and Snyder.

im not a big fan of going after rashard, we got a better version of him already in mcgrady, + he can pass, so i think we should pass on lewis. i like battier, i really like battier! but if we HAD to trade him (and by the looks of things he seems to be on the trading block anyway) then i would go for the wilcox deal. i think our weakest point is PF closely followed by PG but wilcox as our starter would make our team more complete. wilcox is athletic, can block and can run the floor and would fit nicely i think. but if battier left, that would leave our SF spot a bit weak, and to fix that up i would take the risk of going after artest for cheap, then the final move, would be to sign steve francis when he HOPEFULLY gets bought out, now im just wondering if this startup line is even possible?

    pg alston/francis
    sg tmac/head
    sf artest/novak
    pf wilcox/hayes
    c yao/deke

    + whatever

artest for Vspan, snyder, sura's contract, 1st round pick
    wilcox for battier
    sign francis after buy out

that team would freaking rock, francis for 6th man of the year after pulling his head in and contributing heavily off the bench for heavy minutes to relieve rafer, playing smarter, more mature and passionately. novak for MIP under adelman (breakout season!) wilcox to be a solid performer scoring/rebounding (tho slightly overpaid), yao and tmac for mvp seasons, rafer playing more efficient due to cut down in minutes man and making use of his dribbling/passing skills for an even better assist/turnover ratio. hayes is our energy guy off the bench, good hustle and rebounds, can take advantage of double teams + his solid defender, head to improve his scoring ability + dribbling ability. i dunno, im just in love with that line up, Steve and Artest and big risks, but if everything works out, could be out for one of the most exciting rockets seasons ever under new coach adelman, ok enough of me babbling about my dream team, and back to question? is this lineup even possible?

I hope we could get Wilcox but I don't wanna lose Battier. It would be great to make a deal Shane for Wilcox but only if we pick up Artest, cause in other way we wouldn't get a good SF

    I would love that lineup

    Yao
    Wilcox
    Artest (maybe Lewis)
    Tracy
    Rafer or some better guy

ANd of course Bonzi on the bench

    Alston-Diener(PG/SF)-Spanoulis
    McGrady(SG/SF)-(22nd pick)-???
    Wallace(SG/SF/PF)-QRich(SG/SF)-Novak(SF/PF)
    Lee(SF/PF/C)-Medvedenko(PF/C)-Ilyasova(SF/PF)
    Yao-Deke-Hayes(PF/C)

    JHo+Lucas FOR Quentin Richardson
-Knicks dump Q-Rich's contract, he's played only 55 & 49 games in the past two seasons. This is the sweetener for the below trade.

    Head FOR David Lee
-Thomas wants to add more 3P shooting to create spacing for Curry. Last season they didn't have this because Crawford & Q-Rich were mostly injured. Thomas is also rumored to be high on Sean williams in the upcoming draft. That'd be Lee, Balkman, Williams, Chandler and to a lesser extent Rose vying for time at the four.

Battier+Snyder+26th pick FOR Gerald Wallace(S&T)+22nd pick
-Bobcats have no real marquee player to sell to their home crowd. The closest to that is Emeka but he's often injured and looking more like a no.2 than a franchise player. Battier not even close to being a no.2 guy but he's on Team USA and that's a selling point their PR people can work with. They also need more guards with Morrison likely to be shifted to SF because he's too slow.

Split the MLE between Travis Diener (could a hidden gem), Slava Medvedenko, Ersan Ilyasova (due for a breakout season next year)

Hope for Crittenton, Stuckey, Byars or Fernandez to be available at 22. All these guys can play the two-guard position.
