btw, any of my 5 trade scenarios were more 'serious'/realistic than this golden nugget:

you have to give up something good to get something good. lay off the purp. ;)

As much as i like Shane, if i could get a guy like Artest, i think its a great move. They need that dog type of guy. He's just as good if not better defender, same age and better scorer. His money is not that much either and the kings played well when they got him last year. I think that solve your 3rd scorer then u use the mle or howard contract for sign and trded. I'll go one step further and offer Howard, shane, and Luther for SAR and Artest. I think it will work money wise and then the mle can be used on backup type players.

Does SAR have anything left in his tank?

I think we just need a strong upgrade in talent. Some players that have better ability and someone that can create their own shot.

Our first dream would be for a sign and trade for someone like Rashard Hoping he would take a paycut. We could send Battier/Sura/Head and a draft pick for Rashard and Earl Watson who is a better point than Rafer.

    That would leave us with:

    Yao/Big Jake
    Hayes/Howard/Lewis
    Lewis/ Bonzi/ Novak
    McGrady/Snyder/Spanoulis
    Watson/Alston/Spanoulis

If we can't get Rashard than we may have to push for someone like
Artest just to inject some talent. We could probably get Artest
for an expiring contract and change as they just want to get rid of him.
Sura and Change should do it.

    Yao/ Big Jake
    Hayes/Battier
    Artest/Battier/Bonzi/ Novak
    McGrady/Bonzi
    Alston/ Head/ Spanoulis

Then there is the Francis factor. He could provide that explosiveness and ability to get a mid-range rebound and attack the rim.

If he's bought out by NYN, then I think Houston is a strong logical choice for him.

    Yao/ Big Jake
    Hayes/ Howard/ Draft Pick
    Battier/ Bonzi/Novak
    McGrady/Head
    Alston/Francis/Spanoulis

Honestly, "Sura and Change" will not get us one of the premier defenders in the L. Unless, of course, we have compromising pictures of Geoff Petrie or whoever is running the Kings over there.

    Destruction of the Pistons

After the loss to the Cavs, I think we may see the destruction of the Pistons. Jason Maxiell would be great to have at 4 and maybe they would be willing to trade Chauncey Billups. We would undoubtedly have to give up Battier, but it would really be worth it.

    no chance.

...unless billups opts out of his contract and demands a S&T to houston.

Maxiell is too short. I'd rather have Amir Johnson. Actually, I hope they don't break them up, so they try to keep Billups, putting them in luxury tax territory. That way, we can snag Johnson with our MLE.

Mo Williams and Rashard will bring us deep into the playoffs. Chuck and Rafer off the bench would keep us in games and keep pressure off of 2 of the poorest jump shooters on the team.

Injuries aside, Kirilenko is also a good fit at PF. He never really settled as a SF once Boozer returned, and with the right amount of touches (surely Coach A would know how to use him) he would be a happy, productive player for sure.

On the flip, Battier is a Utah guy if there ever was one--minus the dirty play and arrogance--he adds the 3pt shooting that AK lacked PLUS we'd be able to move T-Mac back to SF...

We'd need a SG for sure though, and still a PG...but it's a scary frontline.

    Nice trade.

I am a bit confused about the MLE, LLE etc. It seems you have LLE every other year... So do we still have a LLE this year?

Yes we do. You are right about the LLE.

ya we used the lle on derek anderson, that was two years ago, when we signed stromile swift with the mle. i don't think theres that much players worth the lle, though. i think we should save it for next year.

I think that there is a lot of dreaming going on here on this forum ! If Morey is firm about the untouchables then don't expect the new Rockets Roster to have any great upgrade over last season. For sure there will be some but don't expect Billups or Lewis or stars of their level because without trading Yao Ming, Tracy My Grady or S. Battier we would need a miracle to get a major player. The only possibilty is that a team might be desperate to move someone and might be willing to take one of our supporting players and a draft pick. Yesterday I asked Blinbury the same type of question but he refused to respond.

Any interesting trade scenarios with the bobcats? They seem to be loaded in SF/PF and could very well be drafting Noah....
