    Sammy would play player coach
    Mario as the head coach.
    Would we do it?
    Would they do it?
It would be almost the complete fix in one fell swoop. :p

Yeah lets trade the most Versatile 6'8 player in the league who is a triple threat nowdays away... without mac to draw away the main defensive attention of the opposition, yao would get swarmed. you think yao gets mugged now, wait till he's without tracy. mac is the one who makes this team tick...

You'd have to do that deal if offered, given TMac's back condition. No way the Clips make that offer.

TMac's trade value will never be higher from here on out than it is now. That being said, the Rockets will not trade TMac. Teams just don't trade the face of an organization unless there is a trade demand or a fallout, or the player is going into the last year of his deal and not agreeing to an extension. There is too much wrapped up in the marketing of TMac and Yao to make such a drastic change, that many in this thread believe is a lateral move at best. The only scenerio I see us trading TMac before his contract runs out is maybe in the last year of his deal in a salary dump, if the Rockets are not contenders.

Agreed, but Brand and Yao both need to be in the post/paint to be effective.

And if Yao was to go out for 2 months, don't think Brand and Mobely or Mag and Mobley and Cassell could carry the team like T-Mac did last year. Just a hunch...

Trading T-Mac, especially now with him playing more of a playmakers role (like Magic), would go be stupid!!!!!!!

Besides, you need a perimeter player in this "new NBA" to succeed. Brand and Yao would get run out by the Spurs, Mavs, Suns, and possibly the Jazz.

If there was a drastic change to be made, I would trade Yao before trading T-Mac...didn't someone bring up Yao for KG! :D (I know its not going to happen)

52 games. Who cares? We haven't got past the first round in 10 years. Oh, Moses of the NBA, please lead us with your keen basketball knowledge to multiple championships. Oh, I know. We'll sign Mo Williams or Grant Hill. Yeah, that will do it. That will put us right up there with Phoenix, San Antonio, Detroit, and Dallas. Christ we can't even beat Utah. Oh, wait a minute, I forgot T-Mac will work on his outside shot and Yao will surely get even better. Faith is the answer. I will never again doubt Your Word oh prophet of the hard wood.

    [Trade Proposal] Shopping in Atlanta!

I know it 's a 'little' early for trade proposals, but 'hey' since JVG didn 't coached this team to the 2nd round in the playoffs ... all I can think about is making the Houston Rockets a better squad next season! After we fired Jeff off course! :D

So we need to change this team at a few positions, no doubt! But where can we find decent players, guys that contribute immediately? Maby in Atlanta? Let 's take a look at this trade proposal:

    Houston Rockets
    Incoming players:

    Josh Smith
    Salary: $1,460,640 Years Remaining: 2
    PTS: 16.4 REB: 8.6 AST: 3.3 PER: 18.39

    Anthony Johnson
    Salary: $2,640,000 Years Remaining: 2
    PTS: 5.3 REB: 1.5 AST: 3.0 PER: 9.93

    Joe Johnson
    Salary: $12,744,190 Years Remaining: 4
    PTS: 25.0 REB: 4.2 AST: 4.4 PER: 19.56

    Atlanta Hawks
    Incoming players:

    John Lucas
    Salary: $700,000 Years Remaining: 3
    PTS: 3.3 REB: 0.8 AST: 0.7 PER: 11.77

    Juwan Howard
    Salary: $6,392,100 Years Remaining: 3
    PTS: 9.7 REB: 5.9 AST: 1.6 PER: 12.79

    Bob Sura
    Salary: $3,840,000 Years Remaining: 2

    Rafer Alston
    Salary: $4,200,000 Years Remaining: 4
    PTS: 13.3 REB: 3.4 AST: 5.4 PER: 12.99

    Luther Head
    Salary: $1,048,800 Years Remaining: 2
    PTS: 10.9 REB: 3.2 AST: 2.4 PER: 13.73

(Maby our first round pick also?)

    I made this with the ESPN.com 'Trade Machine' ... http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trademachine :D

    Houston Rockets:

    PG: SF3 (after buyout)/A. Johnson/V-Span
    SG: J. Johnson/Battier
    SF: T-Mac/Snyder/Novak
    PF: Josh Smith/Hayes
    C: Yao/Deke (?)

What do you guys think? If it 's bad, tell me ... if it 's good, also tell me! :D

Are you ****ing kidding me? Probably the worst trade i have ever seen...

I doubt Atlanta would even give us Smith for that whole package, let alone JOE JOHNSON...

    You are officially an idiot

I usually don't flame folks for trade ideas, since this is what most of us read the boards for, but you can't be serious. Maybe you should stick to soccer.

While I think this is a little strong...I would agree that this trade is fairly ridiculous. Why would Atlanta trade their two best players for our two first guys off the bench, a player who will retire, and third/fourth string point guard. Its not enough that the salaries match, you gotta see if both teams would actually want to make that trade.
