Hmmm...very interesting...but I love Tmac...if that pick is their 4th overall...yeah in a heartbeat...but I really want Tmac to get past the 1st round as a Rocket....he sure as hell will get past the first round with Nash Amare even if they were coupled with JVG at center and Dakota Fanning at small foward...

Marion would be ideal if he wasn't making $15-16-17 million a year. That kind of money for a glorified garbage man is not quite what you need. If he made, say half of that then sure, but then again if he made half of that Phoenix wouldn't even want to trade him in the first place.

No way they'd give up that pick. It'd have to be one of their other picks.

My dream is that somehow we get the backcourt of Francis and Mobley back. Shift T-Mac to the small forward and get rid of Juwan for a true big and then have Yao in the middle. LOL

    Trade with New York.

I believe New York may be interested since they are looking to cut Franchise anyway. With this trade we get a creator at SG and a Active pf who rebounds.

Trade Howard, Alston and Sura for Francis and Lee

    New York Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing
    Steve Francis
    6-3 PG from Maryland

Change in team outlook: -22.0 ppg, -14.0 rpg, and -5.7 apg.

IS there any chance Portland and us could work out a deal for their pick?
They've had alot lately as always and they have some trade bait as always.
They also us from the wackiness in last years draft IMHO.

Also do you think if Les loses public opinion on the JVG departure he will give in to the luxury tax market to pump up the masses? Morey should talk him into it for his own sake.

Since PF and PG changes are needed. Here are 2 realistic answers:

    1) Trade Juwan Howard for Shareef Abdur-Rahim. Their careers are eerily similar stat wise but SAR is 3yrs younger. This trade is valid on RealGM.

    2) Trade Rafer Alston and the 1st round draft pick(26) for Mike Conley(top PG pick-likely lottery) Kinda like this year's version of Stro for Shane trade!

Our new and improved starters who would thrive with Adelman:
    C Yao
    PF SAR
    SF Shane
    SG TMac
    PG Law

I'd settle for this if efforts to get Kidd fail ;)

    Successful Scenario
Due to Houston and Boston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Boston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    Boston:
    1) They will most likely draft Kevin Durant in the draft meaning they have 4 players playing the SF spot.
    2) Pierce won't be traded because they won't get fair value because he had an injury filled off year.
    3) Wally can't be trade with 23 million still left on his contract
    4) Green has been a disappointment, they sent him to the NBDL last year.
    5) Ratliff is an expiring contract that might get them something decent in return. He has been injured most of the year.
    6) Juwan can be a good presence for young team and he will crack the rotation.
    7) Head will add outside touch and a good roatation player.

    Houston:
    1) We love any trade that involves Juwan Howard.
    2) Expiring contract of 11 million dollars.
    3) Ratliff who is 34 years old could replace the retiring Mutombo. Remember he only needs to play 10 minutes a game and no pressure on him like Mutombo.
    4) Gerald Green would be a risk but then again at this point we have to take some kind of a chance. The payoff could be great if he thrives under Adelman's offense. Remember his current coach is Doc Rivers the same guy T-Mac publicly lobbied to fire in Orlando. We would add some much needed athleticism and someone who could finish above the rim.

Again risky but I say lets give it a try.

    1)
    Jamal Crawford
    for
    JHo

    2)
    Jared Jeffries
    for
    Sura
    Lucas

Crawford's a good player but his contract is what makes him an unattractive player to have on a roster. The exchange for JHo's contract is 2 years less and around 1M less.

The Jeffries deal would be the sweetener to get the Crawford deal done. Again Jeffries has a long term deal but was also a very disappointing acquisition for them. He was turning out 6-11 Rybo performances for them.

Sura & Lucas's partially guaranteed contracts turn Jeffries 5.6M into 1.5M after they are waived.

Overall the Knicks save c.10M or more in luxury tax.

Actually, I think it's a bad trade for both teams. Phoenix lacks depth as it is, and that trade would leave them with no bench. They would have a nice foursome of Nash, Bell, T-Mac, and Amare and pretty much no one else.

As far as the Rockets go, there wouldn't be a single player on the roster who could create their own shot off the dribble. That's a very dangerous proposition. I understand the desire to build around Yao, but that's taking to the extreme.

This trade would not help Phoenix with their luxury cap issues. Tmac/Howard/Alston are all signed for at least the next two years. If the Suns are going to trade anyone away I assume they will want expiring contracts. Plus, they are looking to maybe dump one high priced player, not blow up the team by giving up three of their major contributors.

I see Phoenix trying to trade Marion and their possible 4 pick and maybe even another first round pick, for the one or two pick and get Oden or Durant. As good as they are, it would be real hard for a team like Boston or Memphis (assuming they get the picks) to turn down a trade for basically, Oden or Durant for Marion, what could be Horford, and another first round pick. Course some salary issues have to match, but that would be far more attractive to the Suns cuz Oden or Durant's salaries are locked in fairly low for the next three years.

Let me start by saying I am a huge Yao guy. I am also a huge Tmac guy and hope both are with the team next year.

But, if Les is serious about having a run and gun offense like Phoenix, he should look to trade Yao. I know there are threads about Les being a businessman and Yao's impact due to being Chinese. There are also threads debating if Yao can play uptempo. Clearly Les wants a team that runs and is Phoenix like, and whether Yao can or cant handle it, he surely is not suited for it.

That being said, what about a trade with the Bulls. They debated a mega trade for pau gasol, and you would think the lure of Yao would be much greater. They have to work on extending both Deng and Gordon this summer, not to mention signing Nocioni. Here is my proposal.

Yao goes to Chicago, where he can excel. Skiles is not a running coach and they desperately need a post presence and Yao is one of the best down low. Chicago has a big Chinese market and I believe that was one of the places Team Yao wanted him to end up. Plus he would have Ben Wallace next to him which is the perfect defensive and rebounding complement to Yao.

Houston gets Tyrus Thomas, a long athletic PF who can fit the run and gun game. They also get Thabo Sefolosha who the organization was going to draft if no Battier/Gay trade. They get Ben Gordon who can hit the outside shot very well and can create his own shot and score.

Plus there is a swap of first round picks. Chicago has at worst the 9 and possibly 1-3 although unlikely. Hou gets that pick and Chicago the 26.

The rockets would have a Gordon/Tmac backcourt, Battier, Thomas front court, and then have to draft a big with Chi pick (Horford, Noah, Yi, Wright) or go after one with the MLE or trade. None of those guys are true centers but hell, Chuck and Juwan got minutes at the 5 this year.

Bulls end up with Yao, Big Ben, Nocioni, Luol, and Heinrich as their starters.

Again, I hope Yao and Tmac are both back next year, but if not I think this trade possibly helps both sides. Thoughts.
