i think its a good trade if the other parts of my scenario happened. we we would have too many guards and a lack of depth at pf/c. i really like gadzuric's athleticism and shot blocking/rebounding ability.

Did any of you even watch Francis this year?

Dude was awful. I thought he was pretty bad when he was playing for the Rockets, but he still put up numbers. Now, just imagine that Francis (overdribbling, r****ded BBall IQ) and include the fact that the man can't shoot, can't pass, and can't finish.

Oh and he didn't really rebound either.

Swing a deal for Mo Williams. Give him the full MLE, sign and trade, whatever. But above all fill the PF hole first.

    Shawn Marion, welcome to houstonnnnnn!!!

    Shawn Marion, welcome to houstonnnnnn!!!

High Speculations are that Pheonix are goin to definitely shop MArion around this off-season to save money. He could be the missing piece to the puzzle. ANd we can get him becasue only way he can come here is a trade. He'll count agaisnt agaist the luxary cap but who cares.

Head, Battier, Novak, Hayes and a first for Marion!!

Yessirrrrrrr. Lets make it happen Morey.

why would they want our "trash" when they have 3 first round picks this year?
they want a 2 guard would be my guess.

If you were looking at the Suns in their recent playoff games you would realize that Marrion is no longer the player he used to be. Yet he still can play but would not fit either of the two most needed holes in the Rockets Roster-Tall Strong Atlhletic Power Forward or Starting Playmaker Point Guard.

This thread is yet another testament why drugs and alchohol are not good, especially when used together.

I like Marion and all but if you're depending on him to be that elusive "third scorer/creator", then I have bad news for you: he can't create his own shot to save his life. His numbers might be good, but he REALLY is just a role player, not a guy you can call plays for unless he's shooting the wide open three. He's basically a much better version of Battier, rebounds more and is more athletically gifted, but doesn't shoot the three as well. Oh, I should also mention that his strengths would all be nullified if he plays in a JVG-type offense (e.g. Carlisle, LB, others). He thrives on the run n gun offense.

I don't think he would help out much, I would rather go for a traditional PG if we're going to make a big move like that and spend the big bucks, not to mention a more traditional PF.

I think that in order for the Rockets to upgrade their roster the strategy will have to go in a couple of directions. One option is to scour deep rosters for players who can't get off the bench and see if draft picks, or expiring contracts will pry them away. What would it take to get Luis Scola from the Spurs, for example? You can go with the expensive, but talented malcontent route and see how desperate teams are willing to get rid of them and hope the attitude can be salvaged in a different situation. You might have to package some real assets like Battier, or Head, though. The last is to select an up and coming player who needs more time and throw the entire mid-level exception their way. You will probably be overpaying, but it might be worth it.

To have Marion on the team would be great. We really need guy like him who is a great defenden and can make shoots at the ofensive end. He is also a great rebounder

We need to trade for a leader who will inspire the same toughness that we saw in Utah and Suns/Spurs. Yao has more fight than McGrady so move McGrady. We need a point guard and power forward. Here's my trade. Do it Les.

T-mac and either Rafer or Juwan to Sacramento for Mike Bibby and one of their many power forwards (not Kenny Thomas, who I love but not the big body we need). This could be either Shareef or Corliss or whoever.

It could be made to work salary wise. We would need to then go out and do something else for a long 2 guard.

I think this would work for Sac also because they've got plenty of toughness (too much you might say) but lack someone who can create and score in bunches like T-mac.

If our window is 3 years, I would try and find players that can adjust quickly to the Princeton Offense. In addition to that, we need to plug our leaks at PG.

Split MLE between Chris Webber ($10 mill/3 yrs); Chuck Hayes ($5 mill/3 yrs); Scot Pollard (min/1 yr).

Trade Bonzi Wells, Bobby Sura, Vassili Spanoulis & this years 1st rounder for Andre Miller.

Trade Kirk Synder & Rafer Alston for Josh Childress & Tyronn Lue.

PG: Andre Miller | Tyronn Lue | John Lucas III
SG: Josh Childress | Luther Head
SF: Tracy McGrady | Shane Battier | Steve Novak
PF: Chris Webber | Chuck Hayes | Juwan Howard
CN: Yao Ming | Scot Pollard

Childress would thrive in the Princeton Offense. He can create his shot off the ball and has respectable ball-handling, slashing, shooting and passing. I am hoping that under Adelman he can develop into a Doug Christie type player or a poor-man's Rip Hamilton.

Webber and Pollard are already familiar with the system and can instantly create depth for the Rockets at the PF/C positions at a very attractive price.

Andre Miller and Tyronn Lue may not be able to hit the broad-side of a barn from the perimeter but at least they can play defense. They are great facilitators and bring stability/consistency to any offense. Their assist/to ratios rival the best in the NBA. Our three point shooting slack can be carried by Head, McGrady, Battier and Novak.

I had to read through all 13 pages before I finally found a suggestion about getting Marion. So, to continue the speculation of trading for Marion, I suggest this trade proposal:

    Houston sends T-Mac/Howard/Alston to Phoenix.

Phoenix sends Marion/Diaw/Barbosa/#1 pick to Houston.

Phoenix gets a player in T-Mac, that is considered a top 5 player in the NBA, to pair with Nash & Stoudemire. Talk about a 3 headed monster. To get a top 5 player, they'll have to take some of our financial garbage. Alston will actually be a nice backup for Nash.

Houston get's a player that is a strong, all around player in Marion, with a much better defensive game than T-Mac. We also pick up a couple of up & coming players in Diaw & Barbosa that have very good outside shooting skills & fill both of our most pressing needs at PG/PF. With the extra #1 pick, we should be able to package it with our's & move up in the draft to get a better player.

T-Mac had a good year this year. His back wasn't as big an issue & I believe that his value might be as high as it's going to be from this point forward. With the pounding that these players get & give every night, his back problems are only going to get worse. Now, is the time to trade T-Mac.

With a tentative lineup next year of:

    C: Yao/Mutombo/Tsakalidis
    PF: Diaw/Hayes
    SF: Marion/Novak
    SG: Battier/#1 pick?/Snyder
    PG: Barbosa/Head/V.Span/JL3

I'd let V.Span & JL3 fight it out for the 3rd PG position.

Imo, the bottom line is, we've got to build this team around Yao & make him the leader of this team. It's my opinion, that as long as T-Mac is on the team, Yao will never disrespect him by trying to take over the leadership role. T-Mac seems reluctant to take on the leadership role during crunch time, & yet, he hasn't shown any willingness to relinquish the role by coming out & saying that Yao is the leader.

Exactly if we can get him for minimum money then I bet you he is a better player than anyone on our bench currently.

Shawn Marion said that he doesnt feel appreciated in Pheonix was actually thinking about leaving...i really think we should do wut we can to get him because PF is probably one of our worst positions(though i love chuck wagons' hustle). If you look at all the other great teams in the NBA, they have superstars as their PF.

I would do that trade in a second, but the Suns won't do it in a million years.
