You mean: Tmac = gets the ball, stands still for 10 seconds, finally starts to dribble, might jack up a low percentage shot, might pass but if he does there's no time left on the shot clock and the offense is in shambles.
You can see that even if you're blind. When T-Mac gets the ball just close your eyes. You should be able to hear a) him dribbling, dribbling, dribbling and b) the shot clock ticking away. What you won't hear is his teammates moving because they've figured out he's not going to pass the ball in the flow of the offense. If you listen really closely you might hear Alston muttering under his breath, something like "Mother****er!".
Tmac is having the same issue that Yao had earlier, he is indecisive and is not making quick decisions. Tmac should get the ball and attack right away... DD
Probably because Scola was in the position to shoot. When he pass from post, usually they need an extra pass to generate a shot. it is the same case for Yao. Yao's assist stat is below 2 per game. but he generates lots opportunity for his teammates. That's why Starbery is still a selfish ballhog and team cancer even though he had 8 assists per game.
When the team keep pass (ball/ player movement), it will create wide open postion for good shot. They don't need one superstar to do everything to create for his teammates. That's the team ball. that's the idea of coach RA. believe it or not, Coach RA promised that it would easy Tmac to play better. It's up to Tmac/Ron to change their habit and fit in to the system. They just need occasionally use their super talents do one-on-one to win the game. they don't need to do it whole time. it won't work because it's too predictable and finally they will be one-on-five.
Very true... and considering Scola's shooting percentage i fail to see why anybody would complain about his shots. Obviously he only takes shots he has a good chance of making which is the point of an offense... getting high percentage shots.
"You mean: Tmac = gets the ball, stands still for 10 seconds, finally starts to dribble, might jack up a low percentage shot, might pass but if he does there's no time left on the shot clock and the offense is in shambles." Tmac = Donyell Marshall btw, The OP is right....... He described Tracy's faults to a tee.
Tmac is playing the one-one game, just like the way that Kobe used to play, but Tmac is not Kobe, even not his previous form, he need give up the ball early, plays the team ball. We will see what will happen tonight with the return of Yao.
With guys like TMac, don't most of his assists come from the fact that he draws in defenses? I.e. drive, come off a screen, whatever, he will draw the attention of two or more defenders, then use his height/vision to find the open man for the score? This differentiates from the traditional PG role of hitting the open man from an off-ball play.
