those shitty Ls could hardly pile up without any reasons, just no one step up to speak, finally a fake "full of fun" bubble got bursted, n coming in with some dramas, --------------------------------- drama I: giraffe in the woods drama II: kiddo, porter junior
I never even thought about this. Like they say, history may not always repeat itself, but it sure as hell rhymes. Of course, even Pippen didn't drive home during a game.
For anti tank people who want to win to avoid losing culture: keeping Wood while him not getting us wins is how you get a losing culture. The young guys will keep improving and seek lessons from losses while guys like Wood seeks blame on others or ways to show his narcissism.
We gambled both on Wood and KPJ to keep their emotions in check but quitting on the team is just pathetic even if we're in a tank season. Wood has always been a diva on every team he's ever been on, that's why I wanted him gone during that win streak but obviously his value is going to tank now that someone leaked this to the media.
The biggest issue is KPJ and Wood both have the highest touches on this team. These are the two players with the most preferences given to them on offense, so they really have little to stand on acting out like this. KPJ for me still deserves more time, and he is still very young. Wood has been on 6 teams in 6 seasons and he still acts this way.
KPJ needs to go to a playoff team with an established star to defer to. KPJ is too immature to think he’s the best player on an NBA team, not for a lack of talent. Porter will fall out of the league before he resurrects a rebuilding franchise.
The Rockets, in their current state, have two apparent cornerstones, Green and Sengun. Everything the organization does should be in the exclusive interest of turning these two into a winning duo. On the court, highlight their strengths. Run offense through Sengun’s facilitation and Green’s multi-level scoring (think Ray Allen). Stop making losing plays, bad turnovers, bad shots early in the clock. Low-intelligence and low-effort defense cannot be tolerated by the adults in the room. Off the court, the alluded to “adults in the room” have to go. Silas is a weak leader. This is undeniable two seasons into getting steamrolled by strong personalities, allowing bad habits to fester and grow into cancer. KPJ and Wood AKA “the malcontents” have to go. Any person who gets in the way of building a winning culture has to go if winning, and not ego, truly is the goal. Including Fertitta. Losses are acceptable, indifference is not.
With this I agree I noted how Wood shot 19% from 3 (in my opinion to force one big lineup) A person who does that to get his stats and willing to get Silas fired and mess with Theis earning his salary is a back stabbing individual. Say what you want about Silas/Theis......Wood lost my respect at that moment. And now we see flashes of that malcontent stuff every so often. Kevin was getting torched by Companzo as CF's game thread mentioned often. Lucas called KPjr out and he didn't like it. Whether it is the lingering thigh contusion or poor energy effort.....you don't go throwing things because of constructive criticism. Play harder or tell them you're hurt. Verdict: trade them both by the trade deadline. Green and Mathews will have us looking better. My main criticism of Porter is that he is imitating Harden too much on the court and holding on to the ball too long. Everyone needs to hurry and attack and pass. Don't over think things. And don't go looking for, "Your Stats" Take what the defense gives you. Some other team can channel the young man into being a better player. We have too many young players to train to be dealing with some acting out.
I think they might both need to go at this point. Wood has basically quit on the team twice now this season counting that game earlier in the year where he was obviously playing passive to send a message, and now this, you can’t tolerate that kind of behavior on a rebuilding young team. Porter is doing the same thing that he’s done everywhere else. Keeping either one of them sends the wrong message, but this team has a history of allowing things to go unchecked. Danuel House should have been released after the bubble. Now this? They may need an organizational culture change.
And the problem with having so many young players on the team is that you don't have anyone with the clout to pull them aside and dress them down when they pull this garbage. If you had a Chris Paul or someone like that, you might give this a chance to be addressed internally. But with the make-up of this team, I think you have to jettison him.
Amazing to think they have a whole month to further destroy their market value. SMDH. I wouldn't play either one another minute. Send the right message to the youngsters doing things the right way and give them the minutes.
Active players Eric Gordon DJ Augustin Coaching Gerald Green Hornacek Will Weaver Former players that stop by in practice Drexler Olajuwon Mario Elie Vernon Maxwell and opposing teams and players seek out John Lucas to work with them with on/off court issues. Problem begins and ends with the person themselves. Kevin Porter Jr doesn't know how to deal with people. Probably didn't have a father figure in his life growing up. Therefore has a hard time with authorities/bosses making demands on him. Probably no father telling him to take out the trash or mow the lawn. Mom's are too easy on kids in most instances. Kevin Love has dealt with issues such as bipolar disorder. Didn't help much in Cleveland when Porter Jr was there. Porter Jr has to dig in deep to be better. Day-by-day.....like an alcoholic
The good thing is that this is a team under construction in search of an identity, changes are expected and necessary. Clearly, neither KPJ nor Wood are part of the future of this team. Those who demand a new opportunity for KPJ seem to forget that it was precisely the Rockets who gave him that new opportunity after the Cavaliers practically expelled him from Cleveland. KPJ had a new opportunity, he seems to have missed it.
The agenda here is how they resolve those 2 issues looking ahead to the future how they would deal with situations alike. That is how a good franchise is born from a mediocre one, how they deal with playoff failure is how a good team turns into a great team.
