It started 500 years ago today when Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door of the local Catholic Church. Truly an act that changed history. Here's my favorite Martin Luther quote: “Whoever drinks beer, he is quick to sleep; whoever sleeps long, does not sin; whoever does not sin, enters Heaven! Thus, let us drink beer!”
Martin Luther probably never did actually nail them to the door, but no argument that its still a huge moment in history. http://www.history.com/news/martin-luther-might-not-have-nailed-his-95-theses-to-the-church-door
The 3 Truths of Religion: Protestants do not recognize the Pope as the head of the Christian Church Jews do not recognize Jesus as the Son of God Baptists do not recognize each other at the liquor store
ha! That reminds me: Have you ever been to a Saturday Night Social at a local VFW in a dry county in Texas. I once went to one in Hemphill, with my ex and her aunt/uncle. Was surprised to see them serving Set-ups and how many ppl brought liquor. Got a whole new impression of how dry counties work.
There were Jews at Catholic Mass? Was it better to kill them in mass as opposed to en masse? I keed I keed. Just messing with you
Burnet County was dry when my dad was growing up here in the 50's-60's. Blanco County just to the south on 281 was wet (thanks, Germans!). Right at the county line there were 4 bars/beer joints where everyone went, the buildings are still there being used by other businesses.
