should tax payer dollars be used to advance a particular political agenda (via the arts)?

what do you expect, these clowns are so freakin offensive to Jews, comparing this guy to Nazis for trying to pass healthcare reform and they don't even realize how offensive that crap is to people and their children who actually suffered under Hitler

It kills me that they are so caught in their agendas that they don't realize how stupid and offensive and wingnutty it is.

Yep... if something like this was said to my face I would be 75% laugh in your face and 25% punch your face (I'm sure Batman would be reversed  ). Coining Obama policy -> Nazi policy as stupid and ignorant doesn't even do it justice.

Basso is just here to push his agenda and other people's buttons anyways... he gave up rational thought a long time ago.

get a grip. i'm not comparing Obama to Nazis (or the Soviets) in terms of ideology, just noting that both used government control of the arts to advance their agendas.

Mussolini made the trains run on time- it doesn't follow that if Amtrak gets me to Union Station no more than 15 minutes late that they're fascists.

We are not going to agree on what is and isn't a political agenda, but tax dollars were used to support halliburton...so...sure !

has any administration in the past or any foreign government outside of the Nazis run marketing/promotions/ad campaigns using public funds to educate and inform the public regarding legislation which has not been passed?

I understand what you're trying to say, but seriously using Hitler as an example tends to blind people to your message. Its amazing you guys haven't learned this.

secondly no one is manadating these guys do anything. these are pro obama people, if they want to take suggestions so be it. if you can show where obama is not sharing money with anti obama artists, you may have a point.

as i said above, i don't have an issue with the Obama campaign organizing artists (or the media, bloggers, cf.net posters) to do it's bidding. i do have an issue with turning the NEA into a partisan organization. if nothing else, it makes it all to easy for the opposition to work to cut off it's funding. suppose that republicans make a decent showing in 2010 (humor me). would you be fine with them revoking funding for the NEA?

the teabaggers are largely against both parties, and many of them voted for Obama.

were there any tea party protests before Obama was elected?

and did you come up with the nazi comparison yourself or got it from Glenn Beck?

This point just makes your reducto ad Hilterum into more of a non sequitur. There was no National Endowment for Weimar Arts Administration that Hitler subverted to get Leni Riefenstahl working for him. Riefenstahl was just some artist (or media, blogger, or cf.net posters) organized by the National Socialist Party to "do its bidding".
