I wonder how much GOP grifting occured yesterday? Anyways, I think MSM, Democrats, liberals etc ****ed up on this one. I'm pretty sure one of the ulterior motives by the administration for this show was understanding that that the establishment and the left are going to heavily criticise and protest this event. Now they can sell to their base and even some independent voters who aren't political junkies who don't follow the news with great detail that the Democrats hate celebrating the 4th of July. Now his base is spreading stories of flag burnings in protest. Constant memes on Facebook are being spammed about how the left hates celebrating America. Begrudgingly saying it... Trump won this battle.
President Trump Annoys the Left by Praising America Now we know why the Democrats were so upset about President Trump speaking on the Fourth of July. It was not because it was political or partisan. It was patriotic and that is what annoys the left the most. Several days before the speech, we heard that Trump was hijacking Independence Day and turning it into a campaign rally. But Trump never mentioned the 2020 campaign in his speech. We heard that Trump’s desire to have tanks on the National Mall was an out-and-out authoritarian performance art. But that wasn’t really the issue. Neither was the fake outrage over the cost. There was no mention of political opponents and no mention of the fake news media. And this wasn’t Trump co-opting the nation’s birthday to celebrate himself. In fact, for a man who loves to talk about his accomplishments, he never mentioned himself. No, Trump did something far more dangerous to the left. He gave America a strong dose of patriotism. He gave Americans a history lesson on the great people, heroes and their great accomplishments over the last 243 years.
Question: do you think it's a rational concern for people to think that an individual like Turnp given his prior actions, his character etc would turn it into a political rally? Or is that irrational TDS? I'll readily admit that a motive for this event was to trap Democrats into being party poopers who hate celebrating America. Bit don't be a naive and think these celebrations are nothing more than a distraction.
We have been having these celebrations on an annual basis for about 235 years now. They are not new or unusual, lies to the contrary by the usual gaslighters notwithstanding. What is new and unusual is to see one of our main political parties push back and object to this celebration, or to our President joining in and participating in this annual celebration of our national independence. The accusations against him that he would turn this into a political rally were false, just like most of the other accusations that have been made against him by his completely unhinged and entirely unprincipled political adversaries among the Democrat left, including most of the mass media. There is no way that you guys can climb out of this pit that you have dug yourself and fallen into without becoming much more self aware. That is the truth regardless of whether you are ready to hear it or to understand it, or not.
They weren't accusations. I don't think you understand the term. They were concerns given his history. Honestly keep on digging your ideological base into a larger hole decade after decade caring about jingoistic low hanging fruit extravaganzas while Americans are at an all time high in consumer debt, 60% of Americans need to finance to pay for a 1000 dollar emergency and being the world leader in having its citizens file for bankruptcy because they can't afford out of pocket medical bills. Wash that all away with your tanks and parades. That's exactly what much more intelligent people holding positions of power want you to do. Just wash it all down with jingoist rhetoric.
This was “new and unusual” as it is the first time a President spoke during the annual July 4th DC celebration (at least in our lifetimes). It was the first time there was a ticketed section and the first time tickets were distributed by one political party. Whether or not there was overreaction, is one thing, but to say it was not new or unusual is flat out wrong.
I hate the president because he's really bad at his job. Using a god damn 4th of July presentation as evidence that he's owning the libs is prime GOP brainwashing.
Try to spin it however you like, you guys have yet again very effectively staked out your position as being anti-American.
