you said it right. francis and mobley need to learn how to play with yao, how to use him to get open shots. once they realize the big man makes their lives easier, the rockets willl start winning consistently especially the phoenix suns and other teams don't have good big men.

    like i said ealier,

rockets - yao = phoenix suns

Yao is too good to be on this team...trade him to a team that actually cares...

Actually, I think Ming is part of the problem in the good sense. We are changing our offense. I don't know if this change is solely due to the presence of Ming. I know he is at least a key reason for the change.

To answer your question, windandsea, I believe (can't prove it) we probably would have had the same or even better record without Ming AT THIS POINT. We would still be using primarily our guards' talents and the skills of Taylor and a slightly improved Griffin. They could win quite some games for us.

(BTW, anybody think that maybe Francis might have made a tough basket at the end if he hadn't decided to make the pass to Yao? I mean, if Yao wasn't there, Francis would have gone all the way and might get fouled or might make a shot. He had the talent to do that.)

The fact that we are changing our offense make the execution harder. They are adjusting. They are thinking on their feet, rather than using their instincts. (Sometimes--too many times--they revert back to their instincts and we see the same old same old again.) That is why we are so inconsistent. We all saw glimpses of how good we can be when they execute well, and how they struggle when they don't. Without Ming, they don't need to struggle.

Does that mean Ming is bad for the team? Heck, NO! We are headed in the right direction. Their "instincts" need to be changed. We all know how hard it is to change our habits, not just in basketball, but in all facets of life. Yao Ming is bringing this team to the right direction. They will be better than before--way better. If it doesn't happen this season, it will next.

Without Ming, we will be hovering around 45 wins a season. With Ming, we will eventually be a perenial 60-win team. The glimpses of brilliant execution we saw will be our nightly performance.

    Believe!

I'm glad to see what happened during last night's game. Francis and Mobley were really trying to get Yao the ball, and cut to the basket. They are learning! Just give them some time. Even 1-2 seasons are not enough for a young team to master an offense system. They have shown the heart! They need support from us!!

i think everyone misunderstand what i said. The reason that i said trade yao is because the team is on itz path to champ. but so far a lot of ppl just keep saying that trade SF, fire R T. why don't we just sit down and watch for a little bit longer? if u are still thinking that way, then why not just trade yao for someone now? just be patient. you will see the future.

    GOGO YAO GOGO Rockets
