If the Rockets win the NBA championship (and I think this is the best shot they will get in the next 10 years), they will play four boring series. Be ready for it. But it still does not mean you cannot enjoy them. The games against Utah have been absolutely horrible. And I do not have a single nail left. That is how good these games have been.
Which we will probably see before a Jerry Sloan coached team stops getting away with hand-checks and other "slappy" fouls....
Golden State has become the best story in the NBA, maybe the best story of 2007 in all sports. Everyone is rooting for them now. They are "America's Team". It would be awesome to advance just so we could become a part of their story. That's just me though. I like it when people in the national media are forced discuss our team, whether I like their opinions or not. Of course, it would be even more awesome to tragically end their fairy tale. The Jazz-Rockets series has gotten ZERO attention due to the other series like Dallas vs GS. America can't help but acknowledge us once we're playing America's Team. On an individual basis, America will also have T-Mac and Yao fed down their throats when they dominate GS and their weak defense. T-Mac is still one of the most underrated superstars because of how unselfish he is. Somehow, there are still Yao-haters out there that think he's a bust and a big stiff. GS is the type of team that he can dominate because of how small they are. By dominate, I mean like averaging 40 and 20 a game. If we're playing GS, that also means Yao and T-Mac both have gotten out of the first round! The haters can't talk crap anymore about that. If we beat GS, Houston fans have even more smack talk material to use against Dallas fans. We beat the team that eliminated them. That's what I'm looking forward to.
i know just what you mean man. i love the rockets but i havent enjoyed watching these games at all. only the second half of game 1 had any real excitement when t-mac was bombing away from deep. i cringe every time yao gets the ball down low. both teams look so slow out there, its maddening i cant wait until this series is finally over. GO ROCKETS
Man, I can't wait till tomorrow... just to see the explosion of posts here, whichever way it goes... either overwhelmingly jubilant, or filled with profanities and many bans being issued
A Houston/Golden State series would not be boring. It's like Don Nelson unleashes five frothing pit bulls in the arena with a steel fence around the court. Out of control? Yup. Terrifying? A little. But not boring.
If the Rockets win the series it will be boring (that is, for non-Rockets fans) because they will slow down Golden State effectively.
