That joker quote about dying as a hero or living long enough to see yourself become a villain

And by giving Parsons the fairness of being treated as a PERSON, how exactly did Morey get repaid?? Oh, that's right, by him going to the ONE man that wants to get over on Morey so badly that he's willing to give HIMSELF a toxic contract. How's that for loyalty? The author, Parsons, Dan Fegan, and Mark Cuban can all go **** themselves with this ridiculous notion about Morey.

Morey is a decent to good GM DEFINITELY.
THE PROBLEM WITH Morey is his game strategy on court.

I won't even read it after seeing the thread title. Absolute joke that all the cockroaches are coming out of the woodwork just because Bosh decided to go with money rather than a better chance at the title.

Morey's positives just outweigh his negatives so much. He has done more for this franchise than GM's of teams who have actually gone on to win the title. We are a pretty incredible team - two players best at their position, fantastic starting line up, perfect flexibility to add another piece soon. To be here after people said we'd never attract an FA is amazing. After people said the analytics movement would never succeed and now we're a top 4 team in the Western conference even if we lost in the first round.

I suspect a lot of these so called critics will disappear again after we acquire another good player and get past the first round.

For me the big problem is the fact that McHale does not have the technical knowledge to coach a team alone, but even that's being addressed now with Mchale's blessing.

All is good. I wouldn't trade Morey for any GM in the league.

Building a top team from nothing is hard to do. Morey made it look easy. Just glad other GM's can't do the same. Now while we have our two superstars and other GM's having to fend off Morey we can argue what Morey's next step is.

    A couple of telling quotes:

Annoying? Arcane and Weird? This guy doesn't even know enough to realize that it's just good business.

Again, this guy has no idea what is going on. He may not understand what Morey did but most everyone else did. Just that Morey came up with it first. This guy is criticizing something that he just admitted that he didn't understand.

A little info about the author:

Look at how adamantly he defended Morey last year: http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2013/7/8/4503192/daryl-morey-sam-hinkie-nba-free-agency-2013-tanking-rockets-sixers
He contributed to the hype and now decides it is time to stop hyping Morey. That's offseason NBA talk for you.

Some things are beyond his control. How hard is that to fathom? Injuries, coaching ("that's up to the coaching staff), and players acting irrationally (choosing money over winning). On the other side of the floor, some things bounced in his favor, that is, "basketball reasons."

Well said. I wish people would understand this. You can't keep flipping players and expect to win it all. We have two stars now, so its time to put together a team, not assets. What good is it to add a player but lose two or three core players. Unless that guy is Lebron.

I've already stated everything in this article before and hurt a lot of ppl feelings on here. Morey thinks a little too highly of himself and so do his fans. Analytics is new & cool, but it doesn't hurt to know a little basketball too

In a league where players make money-first business decisions such as the likes of Melo, Bosh, etc, it's only fair that GMs do the same and treat everything as a business decision. Chandler Parsons at $1 Million per season is one of the best assets in the league and a coveted commodity, but at $15 Million per, he's only earning his current market value. Daryl Morey is also playing the economics of the NBA. Though, all the wheeling and dealing, cap clearing and trading players, if Morey was able to pry away talents such as James Harden and Dwight Howard, then it only makes sense he continues his method as long as it continues to pay dividends. If Morey was like any other GM - content with what he had, Kyle Lowry and Patrick Patterson would be our starting one-two punch. Basically, we'd be the Toronto Raptors. Thank God we are not.

That is the Daryl Morey myth: he turns rice and milk into sweet pudding.

Where's the obligatory LosPollosHermanos anti-Morey post? We already got the GoRox2013 post.

As a rockets fan, I believe this article makes some good points about Morey and his fans. He is a good GM but his results are nothing to glorify.

Much like the LOF, there are some Morey-Only-Fans who cannot see anything wrong in what he does.
