Manny -- a little strange that you would practically be on your knees, begging and pleading for me to respond to you, saying I had to resort to name-calling because I didn't have a point, and when I do respond, you say you don't have the "stamina" to post anymore. Oh well.

Hmph. Sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about. I've stated my position before, but I'll go ahead and do it again, and you can tell me where I'm wrong:

I think it's wrong to continue to slam a Houston legend after he's gone. What happened at the tail end of his stay in Houston, IS NOT more important than all the positive things that happened while he was here. That is why I say that a true Rocket fan would not be insulting Hakeem Olajuwon right now. A true Rocket fan, when the name Hakeem Olajuwon comes up, their first thoughts would be positive, not things like "well, there's no way he'll play more than 50 games this year". Like JAG said, "I don't judge a year by how New Year's Eve went". THAT is my position. You can throw out all the quotes you want from last spring/summer, but they are irrelevant in regards to the position I have described. I don't see what's so puzzling about that. My position is pretty black and white, is it not? How do the articles you've posted negate what I'm saying?

I don't believe I've ever said that. If so, I don't think I believe that right now. I don't have enough facts to say it's anyone's "fault". Quotes in the paper don't tell you everything you need to know in this case. What I still don't know is if Hakeem really wanted to play in Houston this year -- all we can do is speculate on that. I don't think the Rockets really wanted him back, regardless (that's my opinion). That doesn't necessarily translate into it being their fault however. When people blame only Hakeem, I consistently take the opposite extreme, so I guess that's why you think I blame the Rockets. That's just me playing devil's advocate, however.

I think you're jumping to conclusions here. I don't really think about Hakeem much in my everyday life. I just have a belief in respecting championships. I find myself having to defend that belief here a lot....you really needn't read more into it than that. I defended Pippen a lot here as well -- that doesn't mean I'm a fan of his. I don't approve of Hakeem's actions at the end of his stay here -- I just prefer to look at the totality of the events fairly.

That's just from way out in left field. I hardly EVER complain about Rocket management. On the contrary, I consistently praise them as the best in the league. Maybe this comes from you not being around for long, I don't know.

Manny, you're too easy. Try not to get so riled up. This is all just fun for me. :) I consider RM95 and shanna pretty good friends, but you'd never know that from our posts on this board. This isn't real life!
