They could care less,…it’s not about lives, it’s about a movement that thinks they have something going towards a marxist-woke utopian society that very much is against sensible American values

Complete fake outrage. Truth is they can’t coexist with radical Islam but they both share a common enemy : the USA as it exists

strobe lighting a student in the eyes at night as they are walking around campus is no big deal?

Antifa/BLM/Hamas activists are very good at staying in the gray area of physical violence.

Come on it’s not like they are getting their heads cut off. Who wouldn’t want 600,000 lumen power strobe lights flashing in their faces lol

I can’t blame parents, you send your child to a supposed elite college and for $90,000 a year instead of getting what you expect, you get BOTH cancelled classes, a harassing and intimidating environment that has proven anything but peaceful with activities that range from blatant campus destruction, assault of normal Jewish students, false imprisonment and denied public access and tools of the trade include hammers, gas masks, knives, drum shields, sticks, zip ties, etc picked up from the demonstrators which resembles Antifa Seattle based CHOP city instead of a learning university.

    More context from the NYT

City officials have said that 29 percent of those arrested at Columbia this week had no connection with the university. In a statement, a spokeswoman for Mayor Eric Adams said that the arrest numbers “speak for themselves.”

“To ignore these facts and solely blame college students for the escalation of violence and hateful rhetoric would be both reckless and misleading, and unfair to students who did want to protest peacefully,” said Kayla Mamelak, the spokeswoman.

Mr. Adams has said that even a small number of outsiders can inflame tensions and cause protests to veer into violence. And as evidence that the campus has been infiltrated, he has pointed to the presence there at various times of a 63-year-old career activist, Lisa Fithian, and Nahla Al-Arian, the wife of a man who faced terrorism charges in Florida nearly 20 years ago, and whose daughter was a graduate of Columbia’s journalism school.

Ms. Fithian, who has written a book on protest tactics and charged money to run demonstrations and teach techniques for taking over the streets, was captured on video Tuesday apparently urging counterprotesters to step aside so that Hamilton Hall could be barricaded. She has denied playing any larger role in organizing the Columbia protests.

As an aside, the current day political playbook that the Right is using is the same one that they used during the Vietnam War college campus protests ... attack the elitist college student protesters for exercising their 1A protected rights ... since something something un-american to not support the troups something something it's anarchy I tell you something something.

All the while across town from Columbia, an indicted, out on bail ex-POTUS complains that the judge's gag order is preventing him from publicly attacking jurors ... attempting to intimidate the jurors by inciting his mob followers to commit violence ... which is actually not protected 1A speech ... even if the ex-POTUS speech were not legally limited/forfeited due to his indictment and trial.

Correct. Many of the same students probably pay covers to get in clubs where strobe lights are flashed in their eyes in the dark for hours. It's entertainment.

To act like it's a huge ordeal is someone just being an over-dramatic ninny.

Columbia was supposed to lock down the campus and not allow anyone in (including Journalists - what a shame) except for those who live on campus or work on campus, yet 29% are complete outsiders... they aren't doing a very good job

Now, how many of those 29% are right-wing extremists who want to cause violence, which was also a political playbook that the Extreme Right used in the BLM protests.
