Posey is much much better than Thomas. The Posey trade was a steal for us. Posey is an excellent defender. And his shot is not as bad as I thought it would be when we got him.

    Posey > Hawkins.

Posey's energy and aggresiveness more than makes up for any offensive shortcomings. He has helped us win many games this year. Posey deserves to be our starting 3.

Posey is an overrated defender that has been abused a very large number of times this year.

If his shot is better than you thought then you must have thought that Posey has never made a single basket in his entire life.

So you expected him to shoot worse than 39% from the field when his wide open and 27% from behind the arc???? Man you got some low expectations.

One of the biggest waste of space on this board, and perhaps the Internet, A-hole-Train constantly gives us hope those scissors will rip his nutsack.

It's not a mistake because Kenny Thomas was useless anyway.

    But...

It would be a big mistake IF we give him too fat of a long-term contract.

I wouldn't call someone who makes almost 50% of his shots and grabs 8 rebounds in 27 minutes a game useless. He may not be ideal but definitely wasn't useless.

Kenny Thomas was our most polished PF but he was just too undersized for the long-term.

Good player, hard worker but just not the long-term solution.

I liked it a lot at first, because I thought KT would bolt on his own at the end of this year.

I was wrong. Hawk gives you the same things Posey does and he is a much smarter player, and far cheaper.

I seriously doubt we would be out of the playoffs with KT starting instead of EG.

    sorry A-train, but LMAO!!!

    KT > Posey.

I don't think we would've ended up re-signing KT, and I don't think we'll end up re-signing Posey. IMO he's going to want money he doesn't warrant, and some team will be stupid enough to offer it to him(knock on wood).

I'm fine with a Nach/Tmo sf rotation in the future. If that doesn't work we can draft another or sign a fa.

swingmen are a dime a dozen, with a few exceptions.

Just wonder if any player is off the mark on the day, the Coach wouldn't told him not shooting the ball, and doing other things to help team?

I saw Posay kept trying those stupid shots

LOL. When the trade was made, it seemed like everyone was saying that he's really not a sub-40% shooter....it was just that he had to take a lot of shots in Denver!!! Truth HURTS!!! :(

I never thought Posey's a good shooter. Shooting % doesn't lie no matter where you're. Yao Ming could still shoot 50% in Denver I bet.

But I think he's a fairly high bball IQ player who understood his own limitation and played his role i.e. playing defense, hustling and STOP SHOOTING. Guess not. :(

I remember in one of the KT trade articles saying that posey will be wanting more after he turns in to a free agent at the end of this season.. somehow i don't think he'll be getting anything from the rockets..

I agree with everything negative said about Posey in this thread, but still I think making the trade was the right way to go. We needed help at the 3 more than we did at the 4. Who knew T-Mo would turn out like this?

Either way, both players' contracts were ending, so we don't lose anything by benching Posey for Rice, backed up by T-Mo and giving Posey whatever they and Cuttino leave behind as minutes.

I've been saying it for 2 months now, I'd rather not keep Posey, T-Mo is a much much better option. Let Posey walk, trade Rice, go with Boki, T-Mo and a VETERAN FA signing who won't require minutes next year.

Hasn't it become obvious to us that our 3 has to have range up to 3-pt land? If T-Mo develops his 3-pt shot slightly over the summer, I believe we have one heckuva role player in him.

I'd love to keep Posey. For just less than 4M, 3 years, and as the backup 2/3. Anything from 4M and above, let him walk.

Posey was not a mistake! James Posey is playing out of control because Rudy T is letting it happen. Posey has become comfortable with his new team and is taking it upon himself to play like a freelance player and not in the rythem of the Game or working through the direction of Steve Francis. The resulting crazy play has made Posey look stupid on the court, like him trying to go through Jordan next to the baseline. He needs to calm down and play within the structure and plays of the Game.

Do you have to turn everything into a Rudy and Francis bashing thread. The guy get open looks all day long. Jordan even started playing a one man zone because Posey's shot is so bad. Don't you think any NBA player asking for over 5 million a year should be able to hit an open shot when left wide open.

How good has this team looked when Rice and the Wizard went on one of those hot streaks? When our 3 is knocking open looks, we seldomly ever loose. Posey is not the answer. He's not even an educated guess.
