The point of tanking is not to be historically bad, it's to be just bad enough.

Yes. We have to have some sort of young talent here still. Have to gain young talent back in trades/high draft picks. So at some point some wins should start coming to raise the value of these young guys.

You do in this day and age where players only want to play with other good players, and no one wants to be "The Man" for their respective frnachise. There are maybe 12 true star quality players in this league, of those 12, 5 play on two teams. So the other 28 teams are vying for the services of 6 players.

well that's the hand that has been dealt to us. The debate will always be whether management came to that conclusion too late. I have been frustrated for a couple of years seeing high schoolers with better talent than some of our players at their positions.

I think the next couple of drafts have better top pick talent than this year. Davis is the only sure thing. people should check out the draft section and look at some of the next couple of years draft prospects.

Luck just has to be on your side when drafting. When we got the #1, and drafted Yao. That was luck. Had the Spur not acquired the #1 and gotten number two it would have either been Keith Van Horn or Billups. No HOF Duncan.

OKC has had the fortunate luck of deep drafts.

But San Antonio has drafted very smart after that anyway; Manu and Parker.

To everybody that says we should not pursue Dwight Howard and that we should move Martin and Scola for draft picks......

I was in agreement with you all to bring in all these young players and picks but understand this would be very difficult to do. Realize that there is a minimum salary that NBA teams must pay for the players one their roster. Basically Rockets can't only have all young cheap players because they have to use 85% of the salary cap otherwise face harsh penalties.
