What does he mean we were projected to get the 10th pick? We had the 5th pick prior to the lottery drawing. Sounds like Steve's fishing story gets bigger and bigger. Soon it will be we had the worst odds to get the top pick. :)

And I know he was famously regarded to be the good luck charm that brought us the top pick, but I contend that it was me putting my Cuttino bobble head on top of my TV set that brought us the good luck.

"Call us when you land." Rudy T

    "Big men eat first." Yao

    Gotta love it.

Love Steve. I wish his knee could have been healthy for that last push with Adelman.

The story of Steve's career actually makes me just as sad as TMac and Yao.

What an awesome trio with tragic endings. Takes some fortitude to be a Rockets fan!

Yao has a happy ending , he goes to the hall of fame and probably will get his number retired by the rockets

Not as happy as getting a championship, but I'll take it.

That Steve Francis team was bad, but gosh I do miss that team with Yao as a Rookie. There was a certain type of charisma that team had with Steve, Cat and Yao. It reminds me of Harden's first year here with Parsons and Lin. An unexperienced team that just played hard with a chip on their shoulder trying to make a mark in the league and just having fun on the court. Of course all that is gone when expectations are higher.

"Hey Steve, We need you." Damn, almost teared up at the ending. This is one of my favorite pictures. I remember the day we got Stevie back (press conference at 3:33 lol), it felt like all was right again. Even had glimpses of Stevie returning to his former self (preseason put back dunk vs Griz and the game vs PHX). But of course, real life is not always a storybook. :(

    1) He forgot the mention that he didn't even want the Rockets to draft Yao
    2) He doesn't know how the lottery works. Once we weren't called at 10, he should've known we were in the top 3.

    :p

This picture they have says SO MUCH about the "Francis" years

    - The grimaces on EVERYONE's face. (Assistant at the upper corner with pursed lips too)
    - Rudy looking at Steve like a Dad mad at his son for driving Mom's car without asking.
    - Steve pouting, he wants to talk back but as usual deep down knows he should do better.
    - Cuttino the sidekick right there, in it but kinda not in it, probably thinking about shopping later and more trouble to get into with Steve again
    - (Eddie Griff the outsider RIP)
    - James Posey OBVIOUSLY to himself just thinking about STATS and next CONTRACT
    - Yao Ming the TOWERING presense, who SHOULD be the centerpiece. Is the only one with proper focus, but is still in the back patiently looking in for now
