Life is not necessary fair. This man is a NBA champion for last three consecutive years. (2017, 2018, 2019) Spoiler: NBA champion Patrick McCaw 2016-2017 (gsw) 2017-2018 (gsw) 2018-2019 (tor) Spoiler Would you buy a ticket to the Toyota Center to see Harden or McCaw
Agree with all this, but.... Was it? I do think MDA was a problem in the series, but was this coaching? Or the players? WHY would MDA tell his team to stop doing what he's been preaching for 2 decades? I think they did that on their own. Where MDA did fail, IMHO, was in helping them out of that, and in making no apparent adjustments to the Laker's constant double teaming of Harden. Agree.
unless current ownership decides to or is forced to sell, we are not winning a title. period. even w/ good ownership it was already going to be difficult as silver's most hated team. i don't want to watch harden end up like drexler w/ the blazers. clyde got lucky on the downside of his career to be traded to a defending championship team w/ hakeem the dream olajuwon. and the blazers didn't get much back for him in that trade. harden could still win a chip in his prime w/ another team and we could bring back a treasure chest for him in the trade, it's win-win for both parties
It’s really simple honestly. Sign one big man and hand over the keys of the regular season to Westbrook playing a fast paced game and Westbrook attacking like pre bubble. It was a disappointing showing by Harden, MDA and Westbrook. It’s time for MDA to go, I’m sure Morey has retained all MDA’s knowledge, we can replicate what we want. MDA has become the offensive version of Thibodeau imo. Obsessed with one thing, lets the same flaws always take him down. Slowly became irrelevant. The load management has been idiotic, and when the playoffs were announced as playing every other day, MDA is a moron for not finally trusting a slightly expanded rotation. His teams always get progressively worse through a series and I’m certain now that if he didn’t change this season, then he will never change. We’re in a great place right now. The Covington trade made retooling easy. The easiest thing to find is a rotation C. Plenty of good coaches being mentioned (Cassell, Atkinson).
I bet the way you act, perhaps you are jealous? Is this what scorned looks like for JLin fans? The Beard wouldn't say yes to you?
Yeah I know Bud doesn't make adjustments but he sets the direction or basically their gameplan. That's a step up to Dumbtoni who just sets the principle of what the players are supposed to do and then lets the PG do everything. Yeah MDA ran a couple of sets during OKC series but when **** hits the fan he went AWOL and basically allowed Harden to selfdestruct. There's two things here, first is the game plan (concrete steps how you can score the bucket) and then there are adjustments (when the opponent counters your game plan, you make a new game plan). Dumbtoni can't even have a concrete gameplan, WB said he has no idea what to do so he just runs around and freestyles. Same thing with Harden, he just happens to be an offensive genius so it works. With Bud at least even if the adjustments are bad at least the initial gameplan is solid which is def step up from what we had with Dumbtoni.
Tucker made it clear he had given up in game 5 and 6 and to be honest I did not blame him. Small ball was utter stupidity. His body language was obvious
Pre-Pringles, just after the hire, the worry was he wouldn't coach defense. His teams didn't play defense. Because of him or despite him, this last year this team played defense! There was thinking back when, that with his offensive skills, a team that played defense for him would do very well. Well, we got what some thought was impossible, and we still fell short. In a turn of thinking, many blame his offense, or rather, lack of offensive strategy in key moments and slow to adjust to his opponents. So the thing he was supposed to be a wizard at was his undoing? I dont know. How could I? Too many variables played into things this season to say a new coach is going to fix everything. I do feel like this hire could be the last of our Harden/Contending days. Our guys are on the wrong side of 30, and by the end of another multi-year coaching post, Harden will surely be showing signs of decline. He will still be formidable, but not at the very top of his game as he is right now. So I really hope we get this hire right. I just have no idea who that is.
