It is an interesting idea. I think publishers are scared crapless that we are going to start self publishing fairly soon. I can't wait to sell games for $10, and keep all the money....helps the consumers, and the developers. WOOT ! DD
Well. since this thread been derailed rather nicely... For all you gamers out there, what's the absolute worst video game you purchased and or played? I mean, we're talking a big, warm, stinking pile of dog poo here. What jumps out at the moment for me was the Batman: Dark Tomorrow game. Purchased for the X-Box...returned to GameStop on the same day; thank God for their liberal return policy. Good times, good times...
Back to the Future 2 & 3 for the NES. You control Marty McFly as he fights aliens, or something. The NES had a lot of sucky titles. Hard to imagine anyone shelling out fifty bucks for them back in the day.
I bought the Sega CD system back in 92 or 93. That whole thing was a piece of ****. I took it back to the store within 3 wks and got my money back.
The worst game i have ever owned was Platoon for NES. The origional baseball on NES was also really bad too, but all the baseball games sucked untill RBI came around. Also one of my friends had Sega Master system with some kind of alien hunder game (Xynophobe or something) that was really bad. Best SNES is F-Zero And NES is Metroid
Contra and Goonies were on par with the original Super Mario in the enjoyability category. But at the arcade there was a little game by the name of "N.A.R.C" that was pretty much the schyat.
LMAO!!! Techno Super Bowl, Mike Tysons Punch-Out, Contra. Up, Up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, select, start.
The Phantom is going to fail, IMO. With that said, Super Mario Bros. 3 is the best Mario out there, with Yoshi's Island on it's heels. Worst game I've ever played was probably Q'Bert for NES. I never could get the hang of that game.
Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden 2 were pretty kickass, both challenging to say the least. Duck Tales the video game was awesome. I think the worst sports game for NES was a tie between John Elway's Quarterback, Magic Johnson's Fastbreak Dragon Warrior was a stupid game, all you did was get killed by zombies and try to avenge your own death over and over again.
I don't think that the Phantom will do that well either. Just seems like a PC to me. If I wanted a slick looking PC, I'd just call those Alien dudes. My favorite SNES game was probably FF3/6, though Chrono Trigger surprised me when I finally played it not that long ago. Worst game ever played was some game on the playstation, I believe. I think it was called Shadow Madness. It was an RPG, which I really liked, but I could only play it for like an hour before I quit and returned it for another game to play. (rented.) I really don't remember it well though. May be wrong.
holy crap! i remember that code. it was also for a game called "lifeforce" except the code had an extra "b, a" added on before the "select, start". it pretty much gave you all the weapons once you started the game. it was a space shooter type game. best... nes: mario 3, castlevania, or ninja gaiden. snes: mario world, yoshi's island, super metroid, earthbound ninendo 64: mario 64, nuff said! gamecube: metroid prime nintendo 4 life, mofo! screw sega, turbo graphix 16, neo geo, xbox AND playstation! oh yeah... worst game i've bought... marble madness for the nes. that f'er was so hard to control it wasn't even fair!
Gyroscope. It was a game touted to be awesome and to utilize the amazing new robot that was made for the NES. Only...the amazing robot never ****ing worked, and the game was terrible without a working robot. I think NES recalled that stupid thing not long after that, never trying to get it fixed (probably a good call). How they ever released the thing without working is beyond me.
If people have said (Super) Tecmo Bowl and Mike Tyson's Punch Out for the NES already, the argument is over. Can I get a CASE CLOSED from the Trader Jorge?
OS - Lifeforce was the shizznit, me and my older brother played that game all the time, I remember the level where you had to go up the skeleton and dodge the ribs being hurled at you.
yepperz. it was badarse. all the sequels to it were called "gladius" i think. they were good, but not as good as the original.
Holy Crap! That guy must have played that game a bazillion times to be at that skill level! -- droxford
really? oh... ok. either way, that series kicked ass too. the same up, up, down down code worked for some of those games too. too bad you need a "game action reply" or "gameshark" to cheat these days.
