Harden fails in the playoffs regardless of the level of competition. This can be seen also in how large his drop off in scoring efficiency is relative to other superstars.

I did. Regular season James Harden. I'm not asking him to play like anyone else, or suggesting anyone else could have won it all, I don't want to replace him with any player. I'm just asking him to play to his own standard. If he was able to play at the level he did in the regular season Houston would have multiple titles. I don't think asking him to play the way he normally played is unrealistic.

The problem with that is his play style his highly dependent on a third party(refs). Teams press more and are more physical in the playoffs. Refs allow that. Harden is a great scorer when you factor in how he gets to the line but there are many better "bucket" getters and in players who can can make a bucket without the assistance of 3>2 or fta.

Harden has a very basic lay up package, no post game or off ball game. He needs the 3>2 and fta to get that elite efficiency.
