Yall should be concerned with only one position. Center, We have a top pg, sg, sf (defensively recognized), pf, and pf (defensively). We have 2 pfs starting, and what's even worse, our options off the bench aren't any better. I love Chuck, it's not his fault. It's managements fault. Chuck should be shutting pfs down, not getting overworked guarding people twice his size. We don't need a SF, we need a center. we need someone who is capable of getting a rebound and not getting manhandled in the paint on every consecutive play.
Center is the hardest but it won't hurt to get a future replacement for Battier and Budinger. I'm not in favor of the temperamental Melo,Iggy sounds good. He makes more than Granger, but seems obtainable. I appreciate the input about G.Wallace too.
We will not get G Wallace. Don't even mention him. Erase him from your database. We are more likely to get CP3 than him. Stop.
The perfect Small Forward for the Rockets is any MLE role player they pick up (who does more than park his butt in the short corner) after they have a beast of a Center.
There needs to be a none of the above option. None of those players intrigues me enough to put on this team. None of those players will make this team a contender or even a pseudocontender for the next few years. They will only hamstring the team to being a playoff bubble team and 1st round fodder for years, without any hope of truly building a contender.
i think something like this is most likely. a Center + small forward trade that includes the bulk of our assets for players that will make us say, "oh yeah, those guys. i guess that'll work". as far as iguodala goes, he is taking on average 2.3 fewer shots per game this year and most of that is 3's. i think Doug Collins basically told him that he doesn't have to take the team on his back anymore so quit jacking up bad shots, play within the offense, and look to facilitate for their young talent. in terms of assists, watch a 76ers game and look at how often his teammates brick the open looks he gives them. would like to see what he can do in a more talented line up (Holiday and Brand looking better, Even Turner and Spencer Hawes, not so much). he would help, not sure if he is THE answer, and frankly, i'd love to have any of those guys at the 3.
Let's jump in on the Nuggets/Knicks deal. Find a way to send whatever it takes to bring in Wilson Chandler and Nene.
What Small forwards would intrigue you then? They're probably the only "good" small forward that The Rockets have a chance at landing. And all 4 of them are an upgrade from Battier.
We need a point forward since our shooting guard is bad at passing, and our point guards are average at best.
I like I like. Chandler or Galo would be a nice upgrade at the 3...but Nene is something this team needs more than anything.
