To get back to the topic, I am a huge Sheed fans and I thought this even when he was in Portland. I think the his range is exactly what the Rockets need at the 4. The only problem is, I have never been able to think of any way to get him then putting a gun to the other GM's head to trade him straight up for RyBo!

Actually i think Lamar Odom is the perfect 4 for us. He too has the range and rebounding ability, but his size, speed and athleticism gives him the edge when defending perimeter orientated PF's like Dirk and Marion (when he plays the four).

Plus it never hurts to have an extra ball handler on the floor who can see the floor extremely well.

No need to tank, just trade Rybo to the Knicks for their 1st round pick.....

sheed would probably throw a towel over Yao's face after an accidental elbow.

Well, a slightly less expensive Sheed would be Raef Lafrentz. He's a couple years younger, and makes a couple million less than Sheed. He's a slightly better shooter from distance than Sheed. They are virtually the same on the boards. Sheed may be a little better defensively right now but Lafrentz has recently come off some major injuries. If you look at their career stats, Raef is actually a better shot blocker. And Lafrentz is definitely much more gettable than Sheed at this point in each of their careers. I would venture a guess that Portland would take some expiring contracts and probably settle for a second rounder for Raef. They may even be open to dumping Raef for Juwan plus an expiring deal. Yeah, he's overpaid but he's a legit PF/C that can shoot the long ball. In fact, there's not any better PF/C at shooting the long ball right now than Raef.

This is a great idea, except I would go after Shawn Bradley to play center...think of that frontline.

Biggest in the history of the world!!!

dude, what are smoking? we're talking about players we can actually acquire. Lebron would be a better choice than Nash. I could definitely see us getting the other 3 though.

    Here's a pipe dream for ya~

KG is in Minny and getting tired of losing so he goes to Keven McHale asks, no demands, to be traded to Houston. So McHale really can't argue with him, their team sucks and he knows KG ain't gettin' any younger. So he and CD strikes a deal goes like KG for JHo, Sura and the trade exception......maybe throw in a first round pick. So KG is our new PF for the next few years. Could be kind of like when Magic went to the Lakers and rejuvnated Jubar's career. We get our PF and Minny gets cap space next year and get a servicable PF.

    Make it so!

We are truly desperate around here when people begin comparing rasheed Wallace to Raef Lafrentz. If Sheed was on the rockets and we traded him for Raef Lafrentz alot of people would be asking for CD's job.

    I just don't see it.

I say we begin to figure out FA's for next year if anything.

I would rather have Antoine Walker than Raef personally.

He's not great but I think he has learned alot with the Heat.

I still wonder about Mcdysse as well, I think he could really accept a role on this team and I think JHo would be a good fit for the pistons.

I just want to make it clear that Rasheed Wallace is a poor rebounder, and an overrated shotblocker. Don't give me his overall stats. Look at his stats, his minutes, and compare them to other players you consider "good" rebounders.

However, he's an excellent defender, and a terriffic overall scorer.

Yeah, this is my plan too. Let just get a PF equivalent to KG. Then we get the equivalent PG to Magic Johnson, or even settle for Nash or Billips, and I like our chances grealy. Let's get to work scouring the NDBL.

sheed would be nice for this team. i actually feel the rockets have a chance at getting him. i mean, nazrr mohammuhd cant possibly replace what ben wallace did for that team. hopefully flip sunders will get fired for being a non-defensive minded coaching b****.

Alirules brings up a good point, Wallace is the kind of PF we want to compliment Yao, someone athletic and can shoot the outside shot and can defend. Getting Sheed is whole other discussion.
