You had my worried Carolina had already traded the 1st

Not a chance. Kid's a headcase and obviously lacks the leadership skills required to succeed at the NFL level. If nothing else the birthday debacle demonstrates that. He's also skittish in the pocket and lacks both poise and discipline when pressured. His character and integrity are also MAJOR red flags as demonstrated by the playbook incident.

No, Vontae Mack is the pick. The Texans desperately need LB help and Mack is a generational talent.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but the Texans should trade down.
They need talent everywhere and this QB class isn’t like next years.

Add picks and depth and grab a better QB in 2024

 

Chicago made out big time with all the picks they got from Carolina. Big time! Houston probably would have gotten have that by trading down. It's just how we roll, and the other teams know it.

 

They probably think they would get our #2 AND #12.
I don't know if NC would be prepared to do that when he can get one of the top two QBs anyway.
6 of 1, half a dozen of the other...
Or even take the best edge and gamble on a QB at #12 - or make a jump up to nab a QB with Detroit(#6) or NO(#10) for example.

I like the idea of taking Anderson at 2, and if Levis or Richardson is available at 6, 10, 12 do a reasonable trade to move up and grab one of them. Looking at the trade value chart it would take 1.12 plus a 3rd and a fourth to jump up to 6. I would in no way give 1.2 and 2.33 to jump but would consider 1.12, 3rd and 4th.
