I am telling you what I heard on two major networks. Where did the techie refute the story -- the Daily Kos?
the fact of the matter is she had her speech with her on the podium. and i'm sure she practiced that speech a bajillion times. the teleprompter probably failed for a little bit, but she did not ad-lib something on the fly like you mentioned. that hockey mom joke has been released a few days now. all we know from her, regardless of teleprompter or not, is she is a great speaker.
All true. But we're not talking a small business or even a large one. We're talking President of the United States. The definition of the job demands a knowledge of history and a familiarity with law that goes beyond the basics. I'm sick of having a President who does not seem to know or understand the basic principles of this country.
Yep she can give a good speech......so can a lot of people, heck, I could blow her out of the water in a speech...but I am not qualified to be VP. DD
Well, our current President is an Ivy Leaguer (Yale), and he hasn't proven to be an overwhelming success. I don't have any more faith in a Harvard lawyer just because he is a Harvard lawyer. Will he threaten a lawsuit when the bombs start to fall? No, I prize intelligence, experience, courage, leadership and a high sense of morality in high elective office. If we get a President with those qualities, I'll be more at ease. For the record, if that knowledge of history and economics and whatnot is gained in six years of college, is that less valuable than getting the same thing in four? I don't think so. It's what you accomplish with your education and ability.
I'm not sure why the prompter is important. She gave the same speech when McCain introduced her a week ago. She probably practices it in between creating bonfires of books she wished didn't exist.
Let's just divide Texas five ways -- which we are allowed to do -- and then you might not even have to leave Austin.
Or to a overwhelmingly liberal state to plead your carpetbagging case for senate? These petty jabs go both ways. Let's just not even go there.
That's always fascinated me. I wonder what would happen if "we" (the people of Texas) attempted it. It was a treaty with a sovereign nation (Republic of Texas, of course), which the US should be bound to by law, so short of an unconstitutional act (not impossible, given the actions of the current President, IMO), technically we could do it. Chaos who ensue!
