Exactly. Last week, a lakers fan told me that he was a Cowboys fan. I was like how did this happen, considering he has never visited Texas. Another "die-hard" Lakers fan that I know grew up in Wisconsin and has never resided in Cali. I guess it's just easy being a Lakers fan.
I don't think you need to grow up in Texas or even have been to Texas to be a die hard Rockets fan. I grew up in Cali and have been following the Rockets since the 80's.
My older brother gave me an Hakeem rookie card for my birthday when I was a kid... still have it too. MINT Loved Hakeem ever since... love the Rockets cuz of Hakeem.
kobe didn't rape anyone but it is ignorant to think that the lakers are invincible sure we recognize that we have a very narrow window of opportunity here, and that we must play smart basketball to beat this team, but to think they are invincible is only setting them up for failure, whether it be by the hands of yao ming and ron artest or lebron james and ... well lebron james's little minions + mo williams
I see that happen...though they never resided in their team's states they still represent for the team like they grew up blocks from the home arena... On the NFL part, Cowboys used to have training camp in southern CA...That sealed the deal of holding in CA fans to them. Also LA doesnt have an NFL team so they are kinda free to choose whoever they want...Dont mean to be an apologist for them, just adding and obversation... On the Laker following again, yeah earlier today I was surrounded by 2 Laker "fan" coworkers talking smack how my teams gonna go down....and I DOUBT these guys can name over 3 players on the Lakers
I can't believe that anybody who's actually read through all the Tracy Murray dross would actually argue that. All of the garbage and drama surrounding his play/non-play should tell you just how destructive/distracting that stuff is.
hey there lakers fans, if your still looking.....**** YOU!! How does it feel to lose on your home court....We're waiting for you at Toyota Center.
Boy, that guy sure sounds like an ******* now. Laker *******: Bring them over. The fans are all fat and happy because the Rockets beat the Blazers. Somehow beating the Blazers translates into beating the Lakers. Yeah, I don't think so. It's funny how that thread is stickied as well.
Good God! I hope Laker fan doesn't come in here. All the b****ing about the "Houston Sucks" chant and then you two whip out these pearls of wisdom. I'd hoped our fans were mature enough to not spew petty insults. I guess they aren't.
there are some laker fans talk with senses too, this one caught my eyes: Dreamshake Star Player Joined: 05 May 2006 Posts: 2426 Posted: Mon May 04, 2009 9:44 pm Post subject: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnn......when I say I was in my house PRAYING when Yao went down, I am 100% serious. I was like no, not again. It was such a good game...you don't want to see something like that happen. I'm glad he is ok and also glad the cameras followed him so folks could see how tough he really is. Yao is not soft!! He might not be the most athletic dude or always the most aggressive, but he wants to play and you do have to drag him off the court. You guys were a bit rusty tonight, but to be fair...so were our players. I don't expect y'all to miss as many shots and I know I can't count on Artest and Brooks to keep shooting 50% or better, so I still say LA in 6. Brooks speed did seem to bother Fisher, but I wouldn't worry about that as much because Brooks isn't always in attack mode and is quite indecisive half the time (see his play in the first half). Good game and hopefully it will continue to be a good series.
